fitness training testing
What do people look for in personal trainers?

My husband and I are both in school for Fitness Training. It’s an excellent school and it’s a formal education learning such things as fitness testing, strength and conditioning, functional training, special populations, nutrition and weight management and exercise science foundations. This is no quick study certification process and I’d like to know exactly what people feel they need most in a trainer and/or some personal experiences anyone has had, good and bad for us to learn from.
Any insight?

You should be looking for someone that looks the way you want to look. they know how they got there and can most likely get you there too.

You should be looking for someone that is nice, happy, will give you their number to call whenever you need advice. YOu should find someone that is in it for the people, not the money.

Credibility of Boxing Fitness Institute Accredidation in group fitness/PT World?

Hi y’all,
I’m thinking about become a part time personal trainer or group fitness instructor with boxing related workouts. I’ve been boxing for a very long time and have competition experience. I’ve helped train other fighters part time outside of my full-time career but I’d like to teach boxing recreationally. I’ve read a bit about the major personal training certifications but was wondering if anyone’s looked at: http://www.boxingfitnessinstitute.com/

My question is targeting current physical trainers who use boxing/kickboxing/fightsport as their medium or hiring managers at gyms:
1) Can someone please give me their opinion on the boxing fitness instutute reputation?
2) If I have this certification with a standard CPR certification, would I still need to go through the other certification boards?

not really sure of what you need to be a trainer in a gym like that. you should ask them; however, in terms of boxing it looks like a weak gym. things that stand out to me are terms like fitness instead of fighting and a makeover certification sounds like something a woman does at the spa. so as far as any boxing there I would seriously doubt its credibility but on the other hand you probably find a lot of hot chicks there which is always good

How do I get back into the routine of working out?

I started around May with swimming aerobics, butt/ab workouts, strength training, and cardio. I got into a weekly routine with it w. a steady, full yet healthy diet. I recorded in a diet &fitness journal. My goal was not to lose weight but tone and lose my belly fat. I’m short yet not petite, have a somewhat curvy body and I naturally had a big belly (genes). I went on vacation around the last week of july and since then, I haven’t had a consistent work out. I did some elliptical and swim aerobics here and there but no routine…I just let myself go. It’s september and i have a stomach again :( W. my routine i managed to get it flat and somewhat toned (not completely but it was flat). Grrr…

what do I do now?
Goin back to classes and work in a week…busy busy

You need to schedule working out into your regular routine (daily, weekly or whatever) and keep it there. Whatever busy busy is… it isn’t so important if you start feeling fat and out of shape, is it?

Set that schedule- at least 3 times a week for a workout. Stick to it. No excuses. If you need to do something else, slide the work out day forward or back. Some people I know will schedule 5 days for workouts and then cancel 2 during the week (because they are busy busy), but at least they still get the minimum 3 workouts in.

Yes, it’s all a head game. But, you need to figure out what works to fool yourself into working out. Your health is more important than anything else you have or may be working for.

rugby fitness training exercises
Is this a good fitness plan for a 13 year old?

I was a bit disappointed with my last bleep test score (9.3) when i used to get 11.6. I haven’t been exercising a lot recently. I have a new fitness plan, will this be any good for the bleep test and any sport in general.

Every night and every other morning:
50 pressups
25 sit ups
20 crunches
30 squats

Every Tuesday, Saturday and sunday; Rugby training or match.
Every sunday 2mile run.
Saturday or Sunday play golf.

Also will this improve my cardio and stamina. How long will it take before i should be able to get up to 11.6 in the bleep test.

All sounds pretty good except the every night and every other morning stuff. I think you would be working yourself too hard. You have to progress.
So maybe begin with just that many pressups, sit ups, crunches and squats per week.
then progress and do more and more each night.
this way, you’ll notice the results easier too!
