fitness training questionnaire
I have a mental illness and am currently applying for primary school teacher’s training?

I am worried that the fitness to teach questionnaire will stop me getting a place.I have suffered 3 psychotic episodes in 15 years but have been stable on new medication for 4 years.I am currently assisting at a primary school and during the past 2 years have been gathering the necessary qualifications for teaching which I have completed successfully.Will I be disqualified from working with young children because of my illness?

If you’ve got the needed experience, and you have had a long period of stability – then there should be no reason why you won’t get accepted into the course.

You’ve got plenty of experience, and as long as you perform to a good standard in the numeracy and written tests, the presentation and the interview – you will have as good a chance as anyone,

fitness training using weights
Muscle mass decrease and fat mass increased after going to fitness training?

Hi,

Currently I was in fitness training.

Before starting my fitness training, i was 76kg 171cm , fat mass 17.4 kg (22.9%) , muscle mass 55.5kg , body water 39.5kg (52%) and my BMR 1671cal. After joining my fitness center and worked on cardio and weight training for two months, again I took the analysis now I weight 73.6kg and my fat mass climbed up to 24.8% and muscle mass went down by 52.5kg ,body water 35.7kg ( 48.5%) and the BMR also came down to 1577kcal. I was totally confused by this result. If i continue with this my muscle mass will come down more .should i stop the training. Pls suggest me.

morning : i used to take whole wheat flakes with apple and skimmed milk

aftertoon: rice & chicken or fish & vegetables half boiled

evening : whole meal bread with tuna and vegetables

night : whole meal bread with veges and some times chicken

Just out of curiosity, did you get weighed at the same place for both of those?

P90X to prepare yourself to enter the military…?

Hi was looking at types of workouts to invest time in helping prepare myself for the fitness level of the military. Bit of a background of where my fitness level is ran a marathon in the past year, and have done marathon training. Use to swim a good amount about a year ago, but stopped as marathon training began. Biggest issue is upper body strength. Would P90X work well to help strengthen muscles? Would there be something else for recommendations? Thanks for the feedback.

p90X is very time consuming. You’re just a kid if you’re joining the military, 17 to 39 years old. So instead, i would get lots of living in before i left. It’s pretty lonely out there so I’ve heard. But you don’t need a program to get strong. 500 push ups spread through out the day every day would do the trick.

Was running hard for 2 month, now having heartache, please advise!?

I am 29 year old male, 5.7″, 140lbs, decided that it’s time to get my fitness in order, my new year’s resolution. Decided running is the best, last time ran in elementary school and then again 10 years ago when tried to catch the bus. Started running in January, 2.5 miles distance, was hard at first, but in a week pushed myself to run the whole distance without stopping, thought would pass out on a road, then pushed myself for 2 month everytime to run whole distance. Stupid mistake. After 2 month of “health training” noticed that my heart starts to beat like crazy out of the blue, just sitting in front of computer and in the mornings. Stopped running immediately of course. What could it be? What did I do to my heart? How long do I need to take to recover and start running again? Recently bought heart rate monitor, after 1 minute of light jogging my heart rate is 170! Please, any advise.

Did you get a physical exam? At your age I would not think you have any problems, but you don’t know. I can not imagine why running would cause your heart problems and no you heart rate should not be 170 after easy running. My advise is see your doctor and find out what is going on.
