How difficult is it to climb mont blanc?
I’m in reasonably good shape and go on 20mile hikes in the Scottish hills most weekends, mountain biking, a bit of climbing etc. but have no mountaineering experience.
Is mont blanc just a long walk up glaciers and snow requiring crampons or are there more technical sections? Will I need mountaineering training or will a good level of fitness and a competent guide get me to the top? Can anybody suggest a good guide or any training i might need first? Do I even need a guide? Will altitude be a problem? How much does it cost and how long will it take?
It will probably be a couple years before I have the time to try it due to my work, but I want to start researching now so any advice would be helpful. Especially interested to hear from people who’ve been up.

There’s two main routes to the Mont Blanc. One is from the bottom, from Chamonix, and requires some knowledge and ice walking skills. The other is from the Aiguille du Midi. You climb to the top with the cabin car and then you walk to the top of the Mont Blanc. That one is a real motorway, with groups every 20 minutes or so. You still need to in good shape. The Chamonix guides do not offer the second option by the way.
What you could do is take a five days training, which ends with a climb of the Mont Blanc. The first three days is for training, the last two for the Mont Blanc (you do most of the way the first day, sleep in a refuge and finish the climb the next morning and go back down the same day). You will have one guide for two people. Price is actually 900 Euros not including the hotel in Chamonix.
I didn’t climb the Mont Blanc (weather problems) but climbed a few other routes in that valley. Well worth it. But do NOT attempt it alone, or without a guide unless you are professional level yourself. The emergency relief people are tired of picking up lost, broken or dead bodies every year.

Is this realistic for a group of teen girls?
Okay so my soccer team has a summer training program and everyday theres some running. One of the days theres a running part that i really struggle with. Im wondering if people think this is a good standard or my coach is expecting too much of us.
keep in mind this is a group of 13/14/15 year old girls between average and great fitness and a high level soccer team.
10: 100 meter suicides.
5 cones set up to run to and back and so on.
45 seconds to do each
25 seconds of rest between each
i could only do about 5, 75 meter sprints
in about 50 seconds
with about 2 minutes rest……
what do you think
C3, i ran xc and track, and this is a workout like no other
for 15 yr olds… no, for the younger girls i guess
but girl this is seriously nothing compared to either cross country or track workouts

are u into exercises and fitness training? opinions?
helo all. do u consider yourself a fitness freak or something like that? im a fitness freak myself. i work out regularly. and just now i gave a try to something called “feats of strength”. just push myself to the limit. in both muscular strength and muscular endurance. this is what i did just now, i weight 170lbs/77kg and i did 12 pushups in a row with a 120lbs/55kg person standing on my shoulder blades. all the way down all the way up. 12 pushups in a row with 120lbs standing on my back,. and then i rest and take a breath for less than 30 seconds and continue with 35 diamond pushups in a row. no more 120lbs on my back. just my bodyweight for 35 diamond pushups in a row. honestly, what do u think of my feats of strength for a guy who weights 170lbs/77kg and stands at 5’11/180cm. thanks and have a nice day.
What is this, like the 20th time you’ve asked this question. You’re a freak all right.
