How can I gain weight (muscle) through propper diet and training?
I am a novice to gym training. I have been thin my whole life, and I would really like to bulk up, gain muscle mass, and improve my health. However, I am pathetically ignorant. I don’t know what I should be eating, what to lift, how much to train, what days to do what part of my body? Ideally I would love to get a personal trainer, but I can barely afford my gym pass haha so that’s out of the question. I’m just looking for specific advice, WHICH foods, when you say meat, does that mean KFC and a steak, or something leaner? Are fats good? Do I really need to load up on protein and carbs or is that a myth? Whole milk or lean milk? Haha and for lifting, what body parts should I do on a certain day of the week? What days are rest days? What should I be eating or doing on rest days? Haha it’s an overload of questions and I should probably just go buy a fitness book haha. I am a 20 year old male. I am 6’1″ and weight roughly 140 to 145. Thanks for your help!
Okay… let’s see if I can help:
-Considering you want to exercise and you posted this question, learn about exercise movements on the web. One website which offers such information is www.myft.ca
-Fats are alright, but as you want to gain muscle, keep it in moderation. As you exercise more your body will need more protein and carbs, so yeah you might have to load a little bit more. As for the milk dude, whatever tastes better to you I guess. It wouldn’t make a huge difference.
-Now, for the workout plan. People workout differently. Some have an intense full body workout maybe twice a week and rest for the other days. Others do one body part a day. The aforementioned website has information on workout plans that suit you best, but realize this: Since you’re going for overall exercise, make sure you workout the whole body (no more than three days a week), and rest for the rest of the week.
-On rest days, just relax.Even if you’re dead broke, check to see if you know somebody who is experienced (possibly licensed) in massage therapy. I heard it helps with letting your body rest so you’ll be ready to exercise on your days.
Hope that helps!

Where can I get the training I need to become a fitness/personal trainer?
First let me say, I LOVE working out. I love my trainer! When I asked my trainer, where he got his bachelors degree, he said he didn’t have one. This surprised me! But he is certified through the NSCA. He has taken alot of workshops over the last 20 years, which allows him to work successfully without a degree. He has taught me alot over the last 18 months. And I want to help others the way I’ve been helped. I would like to work as a fitness/personal trainer, while getting my bachelors degree in exercise science. Can anyone help me find a reputable vocational school that offers fitness/[personal trainer education?
1: What’s the best vocational school for fitness/personal trainer in the US?
2: What is the better credential to have ACSM, NSCA, AFFA? What is the “gold” standard?
3: Any recommendations before I even plunk down any money on a short/long term program?
4: Is National Personal Trainer Institute a good school?
Any suggestions or opinions would be very helpful.
I think ACE has the best programs. From what I have heard at least.

I’m trying to get fir for the upcoming football season, having done nothing over the past few months (except for some gym work) I went to football training and really I was completely f’d about 15 minutes in.
Anyway I am serious about my fitness and am going to start running everyday to try and get fit.
I’m 16 and very very very unfit.
So today I woke up and I can really feel it in my lower back & upper hamstring and it is quite sore to be honest. I put Solugel fisiocrem (which is like deep heat)
I really want to go for a run and possibly hit the gym before work tonight. I also have some protein powder which I stop and start because with the milk I really can’t stomach to much of it.
Anyone got an quick revovery methods?

I am 13. I am female. My PB from last year is 2.48 which is C.R.A.P because I didn’t do any training. Does anyone know what I can do to improve my general fitness and strength for this season and how to train properly? At the moment I go jogging for about 30mins which is about 3 miles and thats it.
Please can you include a fitness plan (for example:monday-……., tuesday-…..)??
Thanks so much!

what is the legal age to sign a contract with l.a. fitness?
I signed a contract with proresults at l.a. fitness for personal training.I want to cancel it simply because I am not happy with it. The contract is a year long, therefore, they won’t let me cancel it. However, i am not 18, I’m still 17. Was it even legal for them to let me sign it? Shouldn’t they have told me I needed a parent to sign for me? Or is 17 legal for proresults at l.a. fitness?I asked one of the trainers about it and he said that in Illinois it is legal to sign the contract if you are 17. I’m not sure if he was telling me the truth though. Does anyone know?
You can break the contract and if and when they sue you- they will lose for you were not of legal age even in Illinois
