I work at a Borders book store. There is a sale going on with diet and fitness books (Buy 1, Get 1 half-off). Skinny B, and Skinny B in the Kitch is flying off of the shelves! The book is straightforward and to the point, the recipes in “Kitch” are all vegan/organic recipes. Basically, it’s a BIG change. The Dr. Oz books have always been popular, I can’t say they work for sure though. Personally, I did the Extreme Fat Smash Diet by Dr. Ian and got great results! How do I become a personal trainer and prepare for a career in fitness instruction?
I would really appreciate it if a current or former personal trainer or other fitness professional could help guide me in this area…
I’m currently 19 years old and plan to go to school for a bachelor’s in kinesiology. I’d like to be a personal trainer or athletic trainer to start with but would love to move up or go wherever the career takes me.
So my question is is there anything I can do right now to become a personal trainer or prepare myself for it? I’ve read that depending on the organization, you may only need certification. So would it be a good idea to get certified now and do a entry-level personal training job during summer or while attending school? If so, how do you get certified? Is it just reading some material and taking an exam or can I actually attend a class to help me get certified? Thanks.
trying to get the cert would be awesome. you could also see if you could some sort of intern or volunteer work at a gym to see and maybe work along with a personal trainer. i know that some gyms offers certification courses so that you could be certified to be a personal trainer at that gym.

ok, so i have large shoulder muscles, and it makes me look like a guy in all my school pictures, because they’re from the shoulders and up! plus, my shoulders are really broad normally too, they’re buff i guess. i really hate it! does anyone know what to do to make them skinnier? (i’m athletic, but i don’t do pushups or any arm strengthening exercises other than in gym class at school) i play softball basketball and volleyball, so how do i make them smaller?!

Scholastic Teacher Store has tons of jumpstart ideas for springboard writing, depending on what grade you teach. PCI may be another good company to look into.
You might also want to look at teachingtolerance.org. They have some great ideas that teach social acceptance too. You can sign up for posters and all sorts of great stuff assorted by grade level.

I am on my fourth day of an all fruit diet as a start to detox my body before i continue with a diet high in protein for weight loss. I am feeling nausious all the time(to the point that i cannot consume enough water), have a feeling in my mouth like alcohol and it is not getting better. is this normal?By the way I am not a diabetic and before this i never consumed alcohol, coffe , nicoteen, not much junk food , in other words I am not much…oxidised.

What is the best way to get energy and motovation to do anythinging like exercise, school, stuff around house?
I always end up waisting the day and doin nothign important like go online and tv because i just dont feel doin anything else. In the end up i just end up avoiding thing that i need and/or want to get done around the house. I also skip classes and not goin to the gym(both that i pay extreme money for) alot cuz of the a lack of motovation to go. Nor i have the energy to start doin anyhing and everything feels like its too much work. then again when Im at work Im more productive there so I know Im not lazy. And now this repetative rutt I feel into is just starting to show with dropping grade and nothing to show from the gym. the list of thing to do at home is just piling up and I just let it happen….Does anyone know how to get some MOTOVATION and ENERGY get my life going… Or even better does know how I could just change my life style and just be better?
Well if you think the problem is physical you might wanna see your doctor.Depression can cause you to feel as there is no meaning to do the inmoprtant things in life,it could also be you have a solw matabilism(can’t spell) and you could maybe try taking B12 viatmans they helped me out plenty.Drinking more water is not only good for you but can boost your energy.And a good place to start is going to the gym exercising inproves energy also!For good mental stimulation try out word or number games when you figure them out it can boost your self confidence and again give you more energy!Im not a doctor , so if you actually do feel that its an emotional or physical problem you should seek his or her help!But in the end its all up to the choices you make.Good luck I hope it all works out for you!
I want to go on a diet really soon. I want it to be a safe diet but a detoxing one as well. any suggestions will be great. Just fed up of my junk food diet. I have all the motivation to start a diet immediatly. Exercise programmes that could be suggested would be great as well. The reason for this is i have severe eczema and feel that it will help with that as well as getting into shape.
My friend is a personal trainer, and he said that if I was to try a detox diet that the best way to go would be a short term fruit and vegetable diet. It cleanes you out, but it’s all natural. After doing that a week or so i lost about 6 lbs and then gradually incorporated brown rice, egg whites, chicken, nuts… but stayed away from foods like pizza, beef, fast food, boxed snacks, sugary foods ect. I continued to lose weight and had a ton of energy. good luck =)
