fitness training tennis
Is elbow injury considered “tennis elbow”?

I weight train regularly from 2-3 time a week. The injury occurred when I was using of those fitness wheels ( wheel with a handle bar on each side) and on the first rep my right elbow (primary arm) seized up with stiffness and pain. I’m only 22…could my injury be tennis elbow?

Its been about 2 weeks now and the pain come up every now and then during the day, though less severe.

If you were ever active in wrestling its the same pain you get after doing a lot of pulling, from take downs etc. Sharp pain on the inside of the elbow.

Any help from someone with experience in this area would be much appreciated!

Tennis elbow is the name for medial epicondylitis. All it means is that there is an inflammation on the medial side. Hold your arm out to the side, with the palm of the hand facing front. The side of the elbow that is closest to you is the medial side. Lateral epicondlitis (the other side of the elbow) is called golfer’s elbow.

This may be tennis elbow, but it usually happens from lots of reps, not just one.

Just let it rest and ice it a couple of times a day (20 min each time). You have got to give it a chance to heal or it will turn into a chronic problem.

detox diet lemonade
Lemonade Detox Diet Help?

What are some of your good/bad side affects of the Lemonade Detox Diet? Did it actually help you lose weight? Did you get diarreah? I’m thinking of trying it out. Any advise?
The lemonade diet isn’t the manufactured “lemonade” that americans eat today. It’s just lemons, cayanne powder, and real maple syrup.

Good things about it for me were that I was sleeping better, had alot of energy, breathed better, lost belly fat that I have never been able to lose, meditation went really good during the time, my skin cleared up and because I do it twice a year I hardly get sick all the time.

bad things: you get bored with it, envy of people eating, diahrea only with the salt water flush (which I took after work) but take it when you 1-2 hours to spare by your toilet. And the haters that come along with it…

People either love the diet or hate it. There’s so much controversy about it. People will argue about “oh all the sugar” but everyday people consume so much of it with food and soft drinks that they don’t even realize. It is better than a water fast because it does have more nutrients. I wouldn’t recommend it to people that are highly athletic. I did for mind and spirit strength. It is a test to see how much will power and self control you have. The people that say you’re crazy only say that because they haven’t done it. I didn’t feel physically hungry on it, but I did crave things. You crave the things that are whats toxicating your body (chocolate, chips…etc). It is hard but take it a day at a time and try to keep yourself busy so you don’t think about food.

You will gain a few lbs back but if you keep your eating healthy and sensible along with exercise you will keep it off. Some people that gain the weight back are the ones going back to eating the same shit that got them fat in the first place.

How much would you pay monthly for an intense group fitness gym?

How much would you pay monthly for an intense group fitness gym?
It would be based on 10-12 identical fitness spots, each containing a set of exercise equipment, weights, rubber bands, medicina balls, machines and treadmills.
Everybody could come three times per week for a 40 minute class.
40 minute class exerciseswould look like this:
5 minute warm-up,
20 minute resistance training done according to instructions of a group trainer, workout changes always so there is no plateu and boredom.
Then 10 minute high intensity interval training on a treadmill= 30 seconds walk then 30 seconds of the highest speed you can take (sprint), then again 30seconds walk, 30 seconds of the highest speed you can take (sprint).
5 minute stretching
This routine would build overall strength and conditioning and would help you lose weight.

i would say about 50 dollars per month

How do the 24 hour group exercise classes work? Are they just drop in?

Can I just drop in and start? Or do I need to know some of the basics before starting? I don’t feel like showing up and not being able to attend.
This is for 24 hour fitness clubs.

For instance, I want to go try out the Turbo Kick Boxing class and the Cardio Mix but I am afraid I don’t know the basics to do so. Basically, I just don’t want to be the one holding up the whole class and whatnot.

Best answer gets the points.

It is just drop in whenever you want. They usually work on a weekly or bi-weekly routine so it’s not like a class where they teach you things that they wont teach again. You should probably get in there at the start of the week to be safe. If your not conditioned enough and you can’t keep up you can walk out whenever you want, they just don’t want you walking in late. I ve dropped in to the Yoga class a couple of times and they just said that certain moves are for more experienced people and if your a beginner just don’t bother.

How do I train and participate in a fitness competition?

I am looking to train and get my body in shape to be apart of a fitness competition. I want to lose more body fat and compete in pageants and stuff like that. How does one get into something like that.

There are fitness magazines in the stores that would give you alot of information about this. The magazines are all about the competitions, the top competitors and what they do to prepare for these competitions. They may even have info on how to sign up for one. Sounds like fun! Go for it!

I NEED SOME VIDEOS OF HOW TO DO SPLITS AND PIROUETTES!!?

SO I have two really bestest friends and we have this kind of a group of three of bffl’s…

(dont worry it leads on to the question)

Lets pretend their names are Sally and Sandra. Sally does ballet and Sandra does chinese dance. Now Sandra is going to take BALLET too!! I know it seems like a small problem but it is actually a big prob. They would be in the same class and everything. Now usually everyday the subject of dance comes up and they could go on for a while talking about dance. They are both really flexible and I am not. I really want to learn dance but then they might think I was copying them. I also do horseback so i would feel like i am betraying horseback. So that leads me on to my next question. (i know pretty long)

I NEED SOME VIDEOS OF HOW TO DO SPLITS AND PIROUETTES!!

They have to be pretty simple videos. Or if you dont have videos of splits then just tell me some exercises I can do to get to a split and how long it will take. Thank you so much!!!

The good thing about the stuff you want to learn is that they’re very easy with lots of practice.
Remember for pirouettes you need to shoot up your leg as fast as you can, keep your abs tight, and spot.

For splits you need to be warm. Either jog for 10-15 minutes or take a hot shower and stretch right after. The best stretch for me was getting into a straddle, putting hands behind my back, and leaning down as far as you can go.

What am I doing wrong in my diet & exercise routine?

I am 39yrs old 5ft 6 and weight is 158-161. I do 1 hr body toning class on Mon. Tuesday 1 hr body pump class and 1 hr step class,wed 30 min step class and 1 hr body toning, thurs 1 hr yoga and 1 hr step,fri 30 min step class and 1 hr body toning class, (I have been doing this for about 3 months now) weekends I take off, I have started eating less for the last three weeks as I would like to lose 10-12 pounds but I am seeing no changes in my weight, I eat about 5 small meals a day (bowl of oatmeal, scrambled eggs etc.) and yes sometimes I do have a cheat, shouldn’t I be at least losing some weight? I seem to fluctuate between 158-161 and I would like to get closer to 145-150 anyone have any idea’s why I am not losing, or any idea’s how to reach my goal. Thanks!

Well, muscle weighs 3 times more than fat, so it’s possible that you’re just gaining muscle, but have actually lost fat as well, it just isn’t being shown on the scale. Have you lost some inches? That could be a good indicator.
