The notion of a raw food diet is not where everone starts. The idea of rawism takes some getting used to, but is actually pretty easy as you go along. Raw food diet for weight loss is the way most people will get started, and then end up eating raw for the health reasons.

5 Ways to Get Faster Results From Your Raw Food Diet by Frederic

When I first learned about the raw food diet, it took me years to figure out how to do it properly. Then it took me even more years – making mistakes and compromising my health – until I started experiencing the benefits I was looking for from the start!

Let’s face it, if you’re going to bother changing your diet at all, there’s got to be a reason for doing it. I would bet you want to improve your health and energy, right?

But why take years to get those results, when you can get them in months or even weeks? Here are some of the things that I’ve found can help you get faster results from your raw food diet.

1. Incorporate Fitness

It’s interesting to note that even though a person may be fit but unhealthy (think of all the athletes who died of a heart attack!), it’s *not* possible to be healthy without being fit.

Until you reach the point where your body fat is at an optimal level and your fitness ‘above average’, you probably won’t get all the results you’re looking for even with an ideal diet.

Fit people not only digest better, the entire process of nutrition is improved with improved fitness. This means assimilation will be better, blood sugar will be more under control, and much more besides.

To start improving your fitness, you have to identify your areas of weakness and work on improving these first. We explain how to do this in the Perfect Health Program and we put it into action in our 30-Day Body Enlightenment System.

2. Address Emotional Issues

Just like fitness, your emotions are an integral part of your nutrition. You’ve probably had the experience of hearing a piece of bad news and suddenly losing your appetite. This shows that emotions are an integral part of how your body processes food. It’s an essential part of your health.

Often people jump into a raw-food diet, hoping that it will help them ‘clear emotional problems’, when in fact it puts these problems right in their face and they can’t deal with it!

Let’s face the fact that most people eat for emotional reasons, most of the time. It’s really easy to do so with heavily processed or fatty foods, because these foods literally ‘drug’ us and ‘numb’ our feelings.

With raw foods, it’s harder to eat emotionally. That’s why you don’t see lonely overweight people eating buckets of apples to ‘comfort’ their feelings. Instead, they do it with a pint of ice-cream!

Be aware and ready to feel and face your emotions. Equip yourself with whatever tools are necessary to get over emotional baggage – including self-improvement seminars, tapes, and group support.

3. Cleanse

One of the best ways to accelerate your health success is to go on some sort of cleanse, such as the Green Cleanse or the one included in the Body Enlightenment System.

A cleanse should be easy to do, while giving you results in terms of increased energy, weight *release* (if necessary), and increased vitality and health.

My favorite cleanses are:

– Green Cleanse: consuming only green smoothies and fruit for 5 to 10 days or longer.

– Fruit Cleanse: consuming only mono meals of fruit for 3 to 7 days or longer.

– Low Fat Cleanse: consuming only fruits and vegetables without any fat (avocados, oils, etc.) for 3 to 7 days or longer.

While it’s possible to do a cleanse on your own, it’s best if you have someone to coach and support you in the process.

4. Find Raw Friends

Feeling alone and isolated can kill your success with the raw diet! It’s very important to find at least one ‘buddy’ who can support and encourage you on this path.

Now with the Internet, it’s possible to connect with more people than ever. In our different programs (such as the Body Enlightenment System), we have seen the value of offering phone coaching and support, as well as discussion forum support.

Connect with other raw-food enthusiasts using available resources, such as local potlucks, teleseminars and phone coaching, coaching programs and discussion forums.

5. Get a Coach and a System

Besides lack of social support, the reason why most people don’t succeed with a raw-food program is that they don’t have anybody coaching them personally and showing them a system that works for incorporating all of the different elements of a healthy lifestyle.

Unless you think you can do it on your own, you need someone to show you a system that works!

No matter what the coach and system you choose for yourself, you have to make sure that:

– You find a supportive and non-judgmental coaching environment, yet one that challenges you enough to keep improving.

– You have enough quality tools and easy-to-use systems to make progress with your health, fitness and diet.

– The support you get is *constant* or *daily*, not just occasional.

– The program or coach you choose has a track record of success and lots of experience in the field.

Make no mistake about it, you can either take 2 months to put all of the pieces of a healthy raw lifestyle together, or you can take 2 years or 20 years! Do yourself a favor and choose the shortest route to success.

raw food menu planningThe Raw Food Diet has become more and more popular as celebrities continue to sign onto the healthy anti aging eating plan. Now "regular people" have started joining in the newest diet ‘craze’ and are discovering the amazing health and beauty benefits, which might prove the Raw Food Diet is more than just a craze.

So, you are still not sure if the Raw Food Diet is right for you? Well keep reading this article and you will soon know your answer. We will talk about the health and anti aging benefits of eating raw food and include sample recipes and menu plans for you to try.

The benefits of going on a Raw Food Diet include weight loss, healthier skin and anti aging, reduction in the risk of heart disease and diabetes, longer life-span, and you will become a lot more energetic.

A Raw Food Diet is a vegetarian diet; this means the diet will not consist of eating raw meat like steak. A Raw Food Diet essentially includes vegetables, fruit, raw seeds and nuts, unprocessed whole grains, dairy products that are unpasteurized, vegetable and fruit juices that have been freshly squeezed.

Are you thinking this diet does not give you many options? Many people who go on the Raw Food Diet have said they do find a variety of foods to eat. However, keep in mind that preparing these meals can be timely.

raw food diet menu

An example of a popular meal that follows the Raw Food Diet includes vegetables that are topped with a raw vegetable sauce. Does this sound good? Here is how you make it:

1. Slice a zucchini spirally into long and thin slices.

2. Put a chopped onion (white), 1 pound fresh tomatoes, 1 clove garlic (minced), basil, chopped red pepper (fresh), and 2 teaspoons of natural pizza seasoning in a food processor and blend until all ingredients are mixed.

3. Pour the ingredients over the pasta

That recipe is proof that not all Raw Food Diet recipes are hard and timely to prepare. Do you want even more examples? Here is an example of a daily food plan for the Raw Food Diet:

Breakfast – you may have up to two pounds of raw fruit juices or even whole fruit, if you are still hungry and really want a snack during the day you can have some sliced avocados or a handful of raw nuts.

Lunch – you can have a salad with 75% consisting of greens, and the dressing can only be freshly squeezed lemon.

Dinner – you can have a spinach salad that includes 10-20 almonds, 1-2 avocados, and a freshly squeezed orange for the dressing. For dinner you should also have 10-20 ounces of vegetable of fruit juice; freshly squeezed of course.

Investigate the possibilities of raw foodism and raw foodist diets. This is more about a healty lifestyle than it is about dieting.

Why Go on a Raw Food Diet

The Raw Food Diet is no longer a far-out diet which only hippies practice. Increasingly, one encounters stories of raw transformations from celebrities, athletes and friends. So, why should anyone try this extreme diet?

The momentum of the raw food diet is continually growing, at a very rapid pace. Many see it as outrageously extreme and far to limiting.

In fact, this is the initial reaction of a lot of people that then go on to actually experiment with the raw food diet, and often sticking with it.

The reasons that people move to the raw side of things are varied;

to lose weight, to increase energy, to look as good as Demi Moore or to simplify their life.

It doesn’t matter what gets you there, but once you are there, if you do it correctly, you will very quickly feel the benefits.

Often it will take two or three weeks for people to start to feel the raw energy buzz. Two or three weeks of you life, however, is not much, if what you get in return are the following:

Weight Loss

Weight loss on the raw food diet is almost a guarantee.

Occasionally, people that are very thin due to lack of absorption of nutrients will gain weight. People who have pounds of unhealthy weight, will see it melt off on the raw food diet.

Even those people that just have two or three kilos extra on their bones will soon feel a lot lighter.

This author went from 62kg to 55kg from practicing the raw food diet.

Increased Energy

Energy increase on the raw food diet is a guarantee.

There are occasional hiccups where a particular person finds that they need to include more of a certain food to feel that energy. After a little experimentation, the energy comes. Always.

Clear Mind

One of my favorite benefits of the raw food diet is the clarity of mind that it brings.
Once you get rid of the coffee from your diet, and begin to include fresh juices, sprouts and healthy fats, your mind, like everything else, begins to work twenty times better.

>

Have you ever sat at your desk, in a daze, for ten minutes, unable to formulate a simple plan for the day? This does not mean you are stupid, lacking in concentration or in some way hindered. It means that your brain is simply not clear, due to an unhealthy body.

This will be a thing of the past on a raw food diet.

No More ‘Normal’ Ailments

No more colds.

No more flu.

Say goodbye to allergies, varicose veins, acne, dandruff, constipation, athletes foot, arthritis, and the list goes on. What ‘common’ ailment do you have right now that hinders your existence? It is not NORMAL that you should have to contend with this. It will all go once you are on the raw food diet.

They will not disappear overnight, as it took you years to pick up these problems, but they will go. All thanks to the raw food diet.

Anti Aging Diet

A natural alkaline raw food diet may be the best diet to stave off aging early. Would you like to know why this kind of diet could be the best choice for anti-aging? Read on.

A raw food diet is not just about eating raw food, it is also about the proponents of raw food and why these proponents are so dedicated to a diet of raw foods.

By reading this article you should understand what the Raw Food Diet is and why a lot of people are becoming more healthy and active when they follow this unique dieting style.

A Raw Food Diet may be the flavor of the month but it has been around a lot longer than you may think. The Raw Food Diet dates back as early as prehistoric times, even before "cave men" started cooking with fires. After all they still had to eat to survive. In modern times it became popular at the beginning of the 1900’s when proponents Anne Wigmore and Herbert Shelton publicly said that a Raw Food Diet is the prefect diet for humans.

Anne Wigmore and Herbert Shelton were not alone in thinking that way. Year’s later proponent Artturi said that when a person chews on raw food enzymes are processed in their body, which helps in aiding digestion.

anti aging secrets

There was also a book published in 1984, by Leslie Kenton called "The New Raw Energy" which has helped in the popularity of the latest Raw Food Diet craze.

Today there are a lot more people who have made the Raw Food Diet a part of their lifestyle, including popular celebrities Woody Harrelson and Demi Moore.

So what do you think of when you hear someone say Raw Food Diet? Do you imagine a raw steak on your plate next to your salad? The Raw Food Diet supporters are also vegetarians so by saying raw food we do not mean you have to go out and a raw steak, or even a raw sausage.

A Raw Food Diet is a diet consisting primarily of seeds, raw nuts, spouted seeds, and purified water, vegetables and fresh fruit, juiced or squeezed vegetable and fruit juices, dairy products that are unpasteurized and many other foods that have not been processed and contaminated with chemicals.

A lot of people who follow the raw food diet make sure that their diet consists of 75% raw food and will only eat processed fruit and vegetables as long as they have gone through a food dehydrator first. In comparison, some people who follow this diet will not eat food that has been heated hotter than 116 degrees, the same temperature that a food dehydrator operates.

So, if you decide to go on this Raw Food Diet, do you what to know what’s in it for you? The benefits of following the raw food include a reduction in the risk of diabetes and heart disease; you will have a lot more energy, healthier looking skin and slow the signs of aging, reduction in digestive ailments, reduction in chronic diseases, and weight loss.

So have you decided to go on the Raw Food Diet? If you answered yes, the first thing you need to do is see your doctor. Experts believe to follow a raw food diet successfully you should follow an eating plan prescribed by your doctor or a raw food diet specialist, which should guarantee your diet, will include the right levels of calcium and protein.

Hopefully this article has helped you in understanding the Raw Food Diet and whether it is the right diet for you. It may not be the right diet for everyone so remember to talk to your doctor before going on the Raw Food Diet.

History of Eating a Raw Food Diet

This is a raw food review of the historical significance of a human raw food diet. It makes some since that there is nothing really new to be revealed about a raw food diet. After all, humans most undoubtedly have a longer history of eating a raw food diet for many millenniums longer than before the discovery of fire, and therefore impossibly longer than cooking has been an afterthought.

The recent modern resurgence of raw foodism is mostly unique for the fact that food resources and food processing has changed so dramatically within just decades. So much so, that a more natural diet was pretty much the norm for most of us as recent as the middle to latter part of the last century. Another important aspect of the raw food movement is the wide availability of the so-called super foods that have not been known to most people until only recently. Today, much of the news surrounding a living food lifestyle centers around not only the health benefits of a raw food diet, but also raw food diet weight loss and a raw food detox.

Raw Foodist Pioneers

Here are a few interesting historical footnotes for more modern raw foodists. This research is referenced with permission from a short article from Christopher Ciabarra at Raw Food Media.com.

The raw food diet has been around a long, long time. Well, since before we could communicate eloquently about food or diets. Once all humans were on raw food diets, though we didn’t know what that was. Certainly we didn’t know the alternative of processed and chemically engineered food.

The modern documented active pursuit of the raw food diet, however, stretches back to the late-1800 with a Swiss physician, Max Birchir-Benner. Birchir-Benner is in the eyes of many the first great pioneer in the world of nutritional science. His knowledge of the powers of raw food first came about when, working too long and hard as a doctor, he fell sick with jaundice.

Under this condition, he found he was unable to eat anything. One day, while his wife was cooking, she gave him some raw apple, which to his surprise he was able to digest. He continued to eat raw apples and nothing else every day and soon came back to full health.

After this, taking care of another patients who seemed unable to digest anything, the good doctor used an ancient cure written about by Pythagoras in 500 BC. The cure consisted of a diet of raw fruit, honey and  goat milk. This first of many patients recovered rapidly. Birchir-Benner went on to continue treating other patients with raw foods, and in 1897 a clinic in Zurich was founded. To this day the clinic continues to be respected as a healing center.

About the same time another Max, a Max Gerson from Germany, was a young man suffering from frequent migraines. Doctors and medical experts of the day diagnosed the headaches as incurable. Not satisfied, Gerson went on to experiment with his diet. A milk diet did not prove successful, but a fruit diet did. Gerson started with apples and then incorporated other fruits and vegetables.

This cure was suggested to other migraine sufferers, who also found that it worked. One man thanked Gerson for the cure and also explained that the diet had cured his lupus. After many other similar reports, Gerson was convinced that eating raw food allowed the body to heal itself naturally. In 1958 Gerson published and became famous for a book titled "A Cancer Therapy: Results of 50 Cases".

The last account involves a Danish physician, Kristine Nolfi, who fought and won a personal battle against breast cancer using raw foods. As a last resort, she turned to raw foods. When she found to her delight that it worked, she went on to teach her patients the power of a raw foods diet. Until her death in 1957, she ran the Humlegaarden sanatorium in Denmark.

This is a small list of individuals that paved the way for many of us involved in a raw lifestyle today. There are  most likely thousands more documented cases, and probably a far greater number of non-documented cases. You do not have to buy a raw food book, or take raw food classes to start a raw food diet meal plan. Both are good ideas, but you may just you want to eat a healthy diet, and are not concerned with a raw food diet for weight loss.

You can use the Raw Foodist Guide as a resource for getting started on you own. Watch this video, but the domain url in the titles is no longer a working link.

Beginning A Raw Food Diet

raw food menus

This is a simple raw food guide of what you should consider first when changing to a raw food diet. No doubt there are a few question marks that need to be addressed. Just because eating a raw food diet basically involves no cooking, and mostly raw fruits and vegetables, does not mean you will necessarily know how or what to do in the beginning. Honestly, you should not try to go 100% raw at first, test the water so to speak and get your feet wet.

Most people start a raw food diet weight loss program, and once they see and feel the benefits more or less settle into living on live foods. Eating a raw food diet is certainly not difficult, and eventually you will want to try your hand at raw food recipes. At first, think in terms of adding foods instead of subtracting foods. You simply want to replace many of the acid foods in the meals you have been eating with alkaline raw fruits and vegetables. You can learn about alkaline foods by searching for more information like this alkaline food chart. Later you can discover and learn to enjoy the so-called SuperFoods.

A consistent raw menu of organic raw foods is dense in nutrition and fiber. You will find that you will be more satisfied and end up eating less. Another way to approach eating, is to think of food as fuel. Take 4-5 smaller meals throughout the day.  Start changing your diet gradually by shopping like this transition diet shopping list.

A general rule of thumb is that you should never be hungry or thirsty. Drink lots of good quality spring water, or purified, filtered alkaline high pH water (not municipal tap water or processed fruit juices). Staying hydrated with fresh clean water will go far in getting you on the road to living Independently healthy. When eating raw foods it is not necessary to count calories, or measure food. This is because you are eating the right kind of food. When you do decide to get serious about a cleansing raw food diet, start using a raw food diet shopping list.

Raw Foodist Tips

Raw Foodist Guide How to Get Started Tips

Start by Buying Organic Food – The best raw food is organic raw food. There is no sense eating raw food, if it is loaded with chemicals and pesticides. Organic foods are more expensive, but also worth it. Almost all markets now have a separate sections for organic food. The same goes for labeling. Organic foods are clearly labeled as being "organically grown".

Start Juicing Fresh Fruit and Vegetables – Nothing will convince you quicker that you are on the right track than drinking fresh fruit and vegetable juices. You will feel the benefits of natural living food almost immediately from all the enzymes, vitamins, minerals, and other things you have been missing in dead food. Juicing along with a moderate exercise regimen will get you going with lots of energy. Use a good juice or a smoothie to occasionally replace breakfast meal, a lunch meal, or snack.

Start Gradually Adding Living Raw Foods – Always think in terms of adding a new raw food, or trying something new with your meals each day, week and month as you progress. You can create a meal plan, or just keep changing to more raw foods at your own pace. You will select your favorite raw foods by trying new things, just like with any other food.

We intentionally did not focus too much on the idea of a raw foods detox diet, or weight loss on raw food diet in these tips. This is because your system and body will detoxify naturally when you are "living on raw food". Detoxification occurs as a result of eating an alkalizing raw food diet. Eating right is a cleansing diet.
