At its very basic sense, a raw food diet is one in which the food is organic, vegan (no animal products of any kind, except maybe honey), and unprocessed.

The food is not cooked above a certain temperature point in order to allow it to retain its natural vitamins and minerals. It’s the benefits this kind of eating can provide that really has people thinking about making the switch.

First of all, the meat free diet is generally considered to be healthier than the typical nutritional style of adults. When you’re not eating meat, you’re not taking in cholesterol or the saturated fats associated with meats.

You will also be avoiding things like trans fats that are found in processed foods as well as chemicals that are found in nearly every packaged food these days. Without these kinds of ingredients, people on the raw food diet have reported:

The raw food diet incorporates a lot of fiber which leads doctors to believe that it may help in the prevention of certain cancers and other digestive issues.

The raw food diet has many converts because it has stripped away the counting and the difficulties associated with other kinds of diets. It doesn’t require you to focus on the numbers, but rather on the quality of the food that you are eating. And in many cases, you can create similar tasting foods to those that you would eat in packaged form.

There are also a number of raw food stores and restaurants popping up to help make raw food something that you can follow for the rest of your life.

Eating raw foods takes a bit of time to get used to. The preparation and planning is more intense than popping a frozen dinner into the microwave. It is recommended that you gradually introduce raw foods into your diet.

Exercise Science Major. Help!?

Im going to be a freshman in college this fall. I didnt know what i wanted to major in when i signed up for classes. I did an FLC which has classes already chosen for you along with a schedule. The courses have nothing to do with exercise science. I looked it up on my university’s website, on what classes i should take as a freshman going into an exercise science major. Did I waste my whole semester on classes which will not pertain to my major? I cant change them now since school starts in about 2 or 3 weeks. Will I have to take summer courses? What can I do! Please Help. I would like to become an exercise science major and then apply to graduate school to do Physical Therapy. Also If anyone has any advice or information regarding Exercise science please let me know.

You are not wasting your time. During your first year or two of college you are probably only taking general education courses such as college level english, math, etc. These are classes that you will need for virtually any major, including exercise science. As you get further along towards getting your BA in exercise science you will begin taking classes that are specifically designed for your major, including a ton of science classes. Your best bet would be to meet with an academic adviser and change your major to exercise science. You have nothing to worry about this early on. I’ve changed my major three times in two years and all of the classes I have taken are still needed for my degree in physical therapy.

Are Orovo Detox diet pills effective, and more importantly, do they have any side effects?

Im 18 and 5ft 7. I weigh 134.5lbs (9st 6lbs), however I am extremely unhappy about my weight I want to lose at least 14 lbs (1stone). Which acai detox weight loss works the best for someone wanting to lose 15 pounds?

I want to lose 15 pounds using a safe detox or diet pill. I heard the ‘acai burn’ works the best but i would like actual people to tell me if it works or not!

Hello, Casie. I think it is important to understand something about acai berries – it is just a fruit. Sure, it has a high amount of antioxidants, but a quick trip to the acai page on wikipedia will show you that it is not even the top in that region, either. For the most part, it is a scam in the sense of the companies making money off of false pretenses. Sure, you will hear about people losing weight eating/taking a lot of acai, but let me ask you a serious question.. would the result have been different if it was a lot of a different fruit? Personally, I don’t think so.

If you understand all of this and still want to have some acai, then approach it as any other fruit and enjoy yourself. However, I would stay away from the “free trials” being thrown around. You are almost guaranteed to get burned here, there are a lot of reports of people being charged for extra shipments they didn’t ask for.

I don’t think it is very productive to just shoot down someones question and not add anything constructive however, so I’d like to recommend some reading on a diet called calorie shifting. I have heard good things about it, but I’ll drop a link below and let you decide for yourself.

I hope that whichever path you end up taking that you do lose your unwanted weight, you will surely be a much happier person in the end for it.

Ive seen 3-5kg in 10 days for overweight people, but my BMI is 21, and my BMR is around 1300 calories. Does anyone have experience or even an estimate at how much Id lose (in any given timespan)?

2-3 Day Detox At Home Diet..?

What is a good 2-3 day detox diet?
what ingredients should i use? (that are easy to get at grocery store)

Go to your nearest health food store. They should have a supplement department. In that department should be someone like me, who can ask you all kinds of questions about what you’re eating, and what your health is like. Then they can recommend the product that’s best for you, and tell you about any stuff you may experience. Usually, a 2 or 3 day detox just makes you pee a lot, but the longer cleanses can put you into a healing crisis.
