Then 4 or 5 apples, a few almonds, ricecakes, 500g throughout the whole day,

Warm water throughout day..

If you’re going to do a true “detox”, stick to raw fruits and veggies or fresh fruit juices. Eating packaged, processed foods like ricecakes will do nothing for you and will not aid in the detoxing process.

Question about lemon detox diet?

okay people say that when you go on the lemon detox diet(master cleanse) that your metabolism gets horrible, but people say that when you drink water it speeds up,and the lemon detox is all about water. Also if i continue to eat very healthy after it(such as using eating methods to boost my matabolism like eating half a peach every half hour and working out) will i gain the pounds back? i am only going on it for about 5-7 days

People usually only fast like this to “cleanse” their body, not to “diet”. This is not a “diet”, starving yourself will halt your metabolism altogether because your body will assume you are literally starving so it will hold onto all your fat and begin to burn muscle for energy.

Eating half a peach (or any other fruit for that matter) every half hour will likely result in gaining a lot of fat. Few things are as plentiful in energy (carbs, calories) as fruit, and you likely won’t burn this all off, so fat it is. Eating fruit is healthy only because they have plenty of nutrients. Eating only fruit all day is not “very healthy”.

You will gain all your weight back after the fast/detox because all the weight you will have lost will be either water weight or just natural fluxuation from not eating any food and therefore weighing less.

Also, water is calorie free, so will do nothing for your metabolism. The reason you drink water is because without water, you would die after “5-7 days”.

Fitness group class, 3 times a week, 1 hour hybrid class of resistance training, cardio and stretching?
How much would you pay for a unique hybrid class that is done in groups of 10 on 10 identical fully equipped stations. Each class would include planned
1. strength/resistance training working major muscle groups each class with various exciting exercises
2. high intense cardio before and after workout and in between some sets (running, jumps, burpees, cycling, boxing, kickboxing)
3. stretching
Each class would be challanging but resistance could be changed based on and set according to fitness level/condition of member.
Everybody would be entitled to work out three times a week for an hour in a fixed schedule.
So when signing up people have to choose the time slots they will work out. That will guarantee them a station for those workouts.

Push-up/core workout program needed for busy work/sport scheduel?

Hey guys… I use to go to the gym but then ive been too busy to go… ive missing going to the gym after a couple of months off, so here i am to ask your opinions on a program i can do at home…

Now from my personal knowledge(correct or incorrect), the best push ups are feet raised on bed/cupboard (decline push-up)on your knuckles shoulder width apart to give you a punching action style of push up, are these the best pushups???

This is my scedual during the week.
Wake-up: 0600 have shower, occasional breakey(spare 15min bumming around, perfect for mini program, leave for work at 0645

Finish work between 1500-1700 (bum around till 2230, then go to bed)

On tuesdays and thursday football training commences for 2 hours from 1730-1930 mostly aerobic fitness but occasionaly some core excercises.

Whats push-up program is reccomened.
a mate said do 300 push and sit ups a night, 25 puchups, then flip over do 25 situps.But dont i need rest???

Any help grealtly appreciated

Try this pushup program:
1- ten pushups to warm up shoulders
2- twenty pushups
3- thirty pushups
4- twenty pushups
You should have about 1-2 minutes of rest between each set of pushups. (Army Rangers standard is 80 pushups in two minutes – set that as your goal)

I’m getting ready to join the air force or POSSIBLY army, and I want to get in shape and STAY in shape, does the military have anything like this or some kind of continuous fitness program after basic?

They will have a gym on base and it is free but some of the martial arts cost you a little bit of money if they have someone come in to teach. Fitness is a big thing in the service Air Force has what is called “FIT FOR LIFE”.
The Army will have constant PT (Physical Training).

About to enter Army Basic Training – Serious Question?

I am an 18 year old Future Soldier, set to enter Basic Training at Fort Sill on September 16, 2008.

The only thing is, I’m scared about passing the Physical Fitness Test. I’m definitely not in shape. My one mile run time is about 10:40, and have trouble doing regular push-ups. (Right now, I’m doing “easy” push-ups, with my knees on the ground.)

Right now, I do 20 “easy” push-ups a day (ten in the morning, ten at night), and 40 regular push-ups a day (twenty in the morning, twenty at night). I seriously have no idea how I’m going to be able to get up to the APFT standards.

However, MILLIONS of people have gone through basic training, and I’m sure thousands of people have been in the exact same boat I’m currently in, and passed.

I just would really like to know if this is possible for me. First-hand stories of soldiers who have had trouble with physical fitness before basic are preferred. Thanks so much in advance for your help.

Believe me, if you want to pass, you will. As you said, millions have come before you and millions have passed. The ones that don’t are either unlucky due to injury, or just mentally quit. They do not expect you to show up in peak physical condition, but believe me they will work to get you there. Just give it everything you’ve got and don’t quit. When you are hurting, when you are tired, when you think that you have nothing left, just look inside yourself and go a little further. Don’t stop when you’re tired. Feel the rush of adrenaline. Grit your teeth if you have to and keep on going.

Will a couch be okay?

no. you couldn’t really use a couch, because it is absorbent to a certain extent! for the same reasons you can’t do sit-ups on them. my aunt is a personal trainer and works at spectrum gym. she is the one who told me and she trains celebrities.

Do raw eggs have any great value besides protein and relatively low calorie counts? Is there something in them that athletes like for their training regimens and fitness?

I am a believer that animal fats make you very strong. Most nutrition people balk but I am a bodybuilder whom does understand how to combine the right kinds of foods for a healthy lipid profile and cholesterol level.

Now for the “raw” part. That’s movie stuff. Arnold used to do it back in the day (as we all have) but inevitably you pick up a case of salmonella which is nasty for 24-48 hrs. After one bout of poisoning from raw eggs, I was weaker for three weeks. That cured me. Hard boiled is the way to go.
