I’m already vegan (vegetarian for a year, vegan for 4 months) and I’m ready to take it a step further with Raw Foodism. If you know anything at all about the topic (I don’t want to hear that is is bad for me), anything from recipes to things that I can eat in general, it would be much appreciated! Thanks :)

After researching online for a long time the benefits of a raw food diet for my dogs, I think I would like to start. However, where can I start shopping for the raw meats and veggies? I know i can’t just go to wal-mart and buy some chicken and ground meat from the meat dept., right? I know someone said the meat has to fresh, the eggs have to be free range fresh, and the veggies and fruits organic—where am i going to find all this??

I am 5′8" 135 lbs, and I haven’t been taking care of my body lately. I would really like to clean out my system to help with my skin, digestive tract, and stamina, but I fear losing weight if I cut out such things as carbonated beverages that provide a good portion of my caloric intake. Are there any detox diets that can be followed without weight loss and healthy food substitutes that will sustain weight?

I just finished the first round of Orovo Detox, and am supposed to wait a week before I finish the bottle. Why do you have to wait a week in between? Is this normal for detox diets? I lost 5 lbs the first week, should I expect to keep that weight off? Do you lose as much weight the second round as the first?

The Lemon Detox Diet requires grade B maple syrup. Unfortunately its virtually impossible to get it where I’m from. Are there any other ingredients I can use to substitute it?

Preferably made by a real nutritionist, with recipes, no more than 1200 calories, and low glycemic. I read a book extolling the virtues of this kind of diet, but it didn’t have a daily menu. It’s very hard to get started on such an unusual diet without a menu and recipes.
The most important thing to me is that the diet was designed by a nutrition professional. There are too many diets out there made by doctors with phds that have nothing to do with nutrition. Also, raw food diets are plagued by spiritual "gurus" who often don’t have any appropriate education in nutrition at all.
