Is it safe to take multi-vitamins, diet pills, and detox tea while on Lexapro, the medication?
I currently take acti-vit (a combination of diet pill for metabolism/energy to work out and vitamins) as well as The Republic of Tea :Be well red teas ( GET CLEAN: herb tea for detoxing), which help me lose weight, energy to work out, and help me clean my system when I eat too much. However, I just got prescribed Lexapro to help with my depression and anxiety. So is it safe to take Lexapro while I’m on vitamins, diet pills, and detox tea or should I stop?
Just from personal experience… I would NEVER mix anything like diet pills with the Lexapro.
I take a antidepressant as well, and I thought about diet pills and asked my doctor and everything. They Ok’d it, but in all reality I could feel the difference from the diet pills b/c my antidepressant was somehow being affected.
But if your worried ask the pharmacist. They can help, or run it by your doctor.
My advice is, vitamins are OK. anything else I wouldn’t risk it ever again.
Good luck.

Is there a supplier in Tucson that caters to people feeding raw diets? Or should I just buy the stuff from my local grocery store? Anyone else in Tucson doing raw diet?
I’ve been reading many books on raw foodism, I am almost 14 and I really want to make it my lifestyle, but my parents complain that fresh produce is too expensive… it’s not like I’m expecting the to buy everything organic but I do understand that we’re going through a tight spot in a 5 person family with my dad on unemployment.
So… I need some realistic suggestions for me right now.
If possible, I would like to be directed to studies and papers that show more in depth what are the benefits, what are the pluses and minuses of raw foodism, what are the differences between cooked and raw food for the body.
I’m 15, 5′4, 132 lbs. I’m on the Russian Gymnast diet, which I started yesterday for 2 weeks: Orange juice for breakfast, fruit salad and orange juice for lunch, apple for dinner. What could I drink between these meals? Water isn’t an option, I actually can’t drink it. It makes me ill. Please help I’m really thirsty!
Is there a way to soak the rice to make it soft enough to use? Please help as I need meat in my diet and though this would be a good way to do this as I do not mind cutitng out other meats.
Or a fruit/vegetable-juice recipies or diets? (for example one weekend or so)
Experience or warnings on these two?

was it supposed to??
Whole grains in general are great detoxifiers to supplement a meal.
Yoga helps detoxify because you are working out and stretching muscles that are normally stagnant (and accumulating toxins like lactic acid)…after Yoga, you should drink a lot of water to flush those toxins out.
I’m not a big fan of juice diets because the sugar-to-fiber ratio is too high…it is always better to eat the whole fruit. Actually, it is always better to eat food in its most original form (avoid highly processed foods if possible.)

how can i start it? send me recipes, i know i cand just eat fruits and vegetables so what else do i eat to stat nutritionally balanced? i heard nuts or something? what is it?
I started researching the BARF diet after my dog got sick and I have decided to stop or at least start weaning my dog Bob off of store bought dog food.
The comments I’m finding are mixed, while a large amount say it is a good idea there are a handful that say it’s not healthy.
Is it? Would Bob, my two year old (almost three) Westie be healthier on a raw food diet or would I be doing him more harm?
Can anyone recommend a good marathon training plan?
I am training for the london marathon in april 08. I know it’s early but I quite like running and I don’t want to sit on my backside until christmas and then realise I ought to start training.
I have been going to the gym 3 or 4 times a week, running 8 miles on the treadmill 2 or 3 times a week, and the other times using the bike and weights.
The guy at the gym wrote me a training plan but it is a joke… he told me to warm up with 10 mins on the bike, then some weights, then a 9 mile run, followed with 5 miles on the bike. Funnily enough I don’t have time to do this!
I just need something achieveable, which is going to keep me fit and help me work on fitness and stamina. I know I will have to do a lot more nearer the actual marathon and I’m happy to do that, but really need some advice!
Also… have tried to avoid road running too much as suffer from shin splints and don’t want to give myself an injury, although I know i need to start road running sometime.
It really all depends how fit you are. The way to train is to go running and if you are not yet used to running 26 miles gradually build your distance on training runs up during coming weeks.
The one thing you should try not to do is stop running and change to walking, because if you do that in an actual a marathon you will almost certainly fail When you get within a couple of months of the date of your event you want to have done one or more training runs where you have completed a longer distance -say 30 miles as well as many where you have run somewhat under the full distance, and in both cases completed full course without walking or stopping. You also need to do your most intensive training 2 or more months before the actual event but when you get nearer the date of your event relax your training a bit so that you do not tire yourself so much and you keep your maximum energy available for the actual event date. Also one other tip it is boring running for such prolonged periods. So have something to occupy your mind while running, such as an interesting radio programme in your ear.Otherwise the intensive training could become so unpleasant you will be tempted not to bother to run such long distances, and hence will fail on the day..
I’m just wondering if there are any raw foodists who would be filling to explain a little about their diet. We were discussing an article on raw foodism in class the other day and I was just wondering if there was anyone who could kind of explain their eating habits, how/where they get all of their dietary needs, what (if any) difficulties they encounter (have encountered). I’ve never really heard of this until recently and I’m just intrigued.
Thanks!
I have heard that this is a better diet for your dog. I am very interested but don’t really know much about it. Does anyone have any info or can you suggest some informative websites? I’m just confused as to what my dog would actually eat. Thanks in advance.
I am trying to lose some quick pounds, and I know this one detox diet where you only eat fruits and vegetables for one week. Day One-Fruits only Day Two-Veges only Day 3-Both Day 4- bananas and milk only etc. I was wondering with exercise, will I be able to lose a good amount of weight like this for a week, and then continue with a healthy diet and exercise? Thanks
I wanted to try that before, but it was always very hard for me to not eat grains or meat.
If you try this, be careful not to deprive yourself, because you won’t be able to exercise as well as you would if you ate normally.
You may lose a pound extra, but I wouldn’t say its a miracle diet or anything. Tell me how it works out for you!
I plan to go on the raw food diet and I plan to eat only fruits and veggies. And I was wondering, is it safe? I won’t pass out or become malnourished or anything like that, will I?
For anyone who has actually tried this diet, YOUR advice and experience will be helpful.
She’s been to the vet a lot & she (the vet) doesn’t think the cat is seriously ill. She thinks it may be irritable bowel syndrome. Right now kitty is on Hills ID prescription food. She seems better on this food, but they say it should only be fed short term & she’s been on it 3 mos. Also, it contains a lot of bad ingredient including corn gluten & chicken bi-products YUK :( My vet doesn’t seem at all knowledgeable about food. I’m planning on going to a holistic vet, but wanted to get input from members who feed the raw food diet. Thanks!
His owner couldn’t keep him, so we took him in. He’s been fed dry food exclusively and his bowl was kept full. How can I ease him into less food and would canned be better than dry?
