So I’m living with my aunt and uncle and there kids…I love it but I’m also trying to lean down. I’m 148lbs and I would like to lose 18-20lbs in the next 3-4 months. The problem is that I pay them 300 dollars a month for food, technically rent is free. So it’s only board I’m paying. However it seems the food we buy (I go shopping with her) isn’t really conducive to weight loss. I have a hard time eat well fine there isn’t very much healthy selection. I spent a 3 days eating bran flakes and apples and yogurt for breakfast and lunch because there was anything else healthy and then at dinner I would cave because there wasn’t any salad or anything lean to eat, I’ll end up eating pasta or potatoes or bread or anything!!!
I can’t lose weight like this! I need to keep strong through out the day but I don’t know how to tell my aunt I’m not happy with the food options at dinner! I’m all to happy eating it at the time but I regret it the next morning!
Oh I should say that I feel bad asking for things in the supermarket, I feel like I’m wasting money or something…
I live with my aunt and I’m trying to diet and even though when the 1st of the month comes to buy groceries I buy healthy foods and eat them. I still get tempted to eat unhealthy foods like fried foods, white pasta, white rice, fast foods, and fatty meats like pork especially sausage. Please help me I want a slimmer body and I don’t want to eat the wrong things.

I changed my review from a 1 to a 5…here’s why I am impressed. First, I had a Tanita scale; it told me my weight, body fat, water weight, bone weight, if my toe nails needed to be cut, etc. However, I could not read the display and as executive/non-athlete I did not need all this information. When that scale died, I went looking for a good solid simple scale. I liked the way this scale looked and the reviews on Amazon were good. Plus, the price was great. I got it right away, and it was great. Looked good, easy to read, and I liked the 0.2 denominations. However, unfortunately it stopped working after two weeks. I went to return it on Amazon and posted a disappointing review. Then the most amazing thing happened…this really happened…about an hour after I posted my review, I was contacted by the company. They read my review and apologized that my unit was not operating the way that it was supposed, discussed their high quality control and that this should not have happened, and then they sent me a replacement right away. THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! They are family run operation that prides themselves on customer service and providing people with a quality product. THEY STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS! There are so few of these good companies left. I was very impressed. I am a very happy customer again and will buy other products from this company!! I hope you will too.

I am SO happy to finally have a bathroom scale that WORKS! My old Taylor scale was just crap. Seriously. I lost so much motivation because of that thing, it would give me different weights anywhere within a 5-pound “range” every time I stepped on it, so I never had any idea what I actually weighed, or whether or not my hard work was paying off. Drove me nuts!
Because of that, I put my new EatSmart scale through a lot of “tests” when I got it today. I stepped on it 5 times in a row, alternating between it and the old Taylor scale each time. The old scale gave me 5 completely different numbers, as usual, but the EatSmart stayed the same each time! I even tried putting the laundry basket on it in between weighs, to make sure it wasn’t just “remembering” the last number. Nope! So then I tried drinking a big glass of water, and sure enough, the EatSmart registered a .6 pound increase. Fantastic! I’m so pleased with the consistency and accuracy of this scale. I’m feeling 100x more energized and motivated than I was yesterday, because I know now I’ll be able to see the REAL results of my actions, good or otherwise.

When I finally decided to replace the old analog scale that I have had for the last decade I thought it was going to be an expensive and borderline painful process. After doing a little research, I purchased the EatSmart scale primarily because the large display was appealing (I have a very small apartment bathroom with one small overhead light) and the price seemed right.
I have been nothing but thrilled with this purchase so far. The large screen allows for me to easily read the scale every time (even after I get out of the shower and the bathroom is fogged up). With my old analog I was always hunching over to figure out what major weights the dial was between. It also is very accurate (I weighed myself multiple times the first few times to test this) and has none of the huge weight fluctuations reported in the reviews of some of Amazon’s other scales. Best of all the price was very reasonable versus scales with similar features I have seen elsewhere. Highly recommended.

I barely eat any vegies, and I came across this stuff. Its prety much a blend of a bunch of super foods. I recently had blood work done and they said my kidneys and liver were operating at above average levels. I stopped taking it and everything went back to normal. Is this bad, or is this what is supposed to? Is it good to take stuff like this? Any other substitutions if this is no good? Thanks!

HAS ANYONE ACTUALLY DONE THE RAW FOOD DIET?!!!!
If you haven’t heard of it, it is a diet where you only eat raw foods.
Duhh.But anyways;no processed,cooked,or anything like that.
You’re basically becoming an extreme vegetarian for months..or a life time!
I think its a really good diet,I’ve seen videos on Youtube with real people.A man lost 100 lbs in 5-6 months on this.
Another man/boy lost 18 lbs in 7 days.
I’m pretty skeptical about stuff like this, but I dont think they’re lying.
Basically my question is, if you’ve been on this diet,or if you haven’t, all I really want is your opinion.
Are these good recipes?

or just plain filtered water (brita). the rest of our house (including the kitchen sink) is soft water. our drinking water is through our "alkaline water" machine and it’s not soft water. baby is 5 months now old and we’re going to start switching from breastmilk to formula about 1 or 2 meals a day.
thanks!
I would like to try out some raw food diet recipes as I am intending to switch to living food diet. Is there any online store that sells or delivers ready to eat raw food to Europe?
I want to try eating a raw diet but I’m just worried about my hunger. If I eat fruit, vegetables, and nuts/seeds I’m sure I’m going to get bad hunger pangs. I usually eat lots of wheat carbs and a little bit of meat every day so the cravings are sure to come. My question is what can I do to avoid the hunger? Is it normal to feel sick to my stomach and dizzy while in the transition period?
Okay, I am not only going on a diet, I’m going to try to turn my whole lifestyle around too. I want to eat healthier so I feel better physically and about myself. But first things first- I need to lose some weight, and so I was wondering, does anyone have some helpful food suggestions?? try to think cheap please if possible (because I’m a highschool student with only a weekend job, so I don’t make much money.) And also any helpful little routine excersises? I have the basics, but other ideas wouldn’t hurt to try out.
thanks!
Is it safe?
Is he old enough he is about 7 months old and weighs 13lbs.
How do I start him on a raw food diet? he eats only dry food
What sorts of raw food can I give him?
My mom has had Hepatitis C for 40 years or so now. It is now advanced a bit and after some research we know a "raw diet" is good for her. My book says to avoid all animal products except raw goat milk and goat cheese. She’s a 1st grade teacher and wants to have some good snacks that she could even share w/ the kids. Anyone have any good sites or recipes for snacks and meals to make raw food exciting? All I can think of is salad! Thanks guys!! (I plan on giving best answer!! 10 pts! wooo hooo!)
apparently on live fods you dont have to contribute enzymes from your body because live food has its own enzymes to start and end the digestive process. it does get kinda boring though. like all i can ever seem to eat on a live food diet is bananas and apples (i hate avocados), i also have nuts (which i find extremely boring and mundane to eat, and seeds (boringggggg)
you need to be a special kinda person to sustain a live food diet for months lol.
hi,does anybody know any quick and chep raw food recipes. i have a blender, juicer and the magic bullet. and i have like common fruits and vegetables, apples, oranges, bannas and tomatos and lettuce and carrots, nothing special. we don’t have money to get all the things needed for a raw diet, but we’re working with what we have. i need somethings i can do for dinner, and then some stuff i can do before i walk out the door to go to the bus stop, i’m mostly a fruit person, but any raw diet recipes are greatly needed!
and if u guys have any ideas about shakes. thanks you guys!
o, yea if u guys know any raw coconut ideas…….please tell me! lol, thanks! my mom is going shopping tonight or tommorrow,so please can you guys answer quickly (not demanding though)! lol
A friend asked for my opinion on a Japanese water filter that produces alkaline ionized water. I am VERY skeptical that purified water can have any effect on health, unless your tap water contains pollutants. I mean, the acidity of the stomach is fairly well regulated and will probably negate the effects of something like this (won’t it?).
The thing is, she is very convinced. I don’t want to be rude to her, but I want to tell her that there is no scientific basis (is there?). How can I do this in a tactful way? Or should I give this water filter a chance?
I’m 5’11 and weigh 200 lbs, which I gained 3 months after I got sober from drugs (I was 140 for 4-5 years before getting sober).
Over the last four years of being sober I have tried EVERYTHING to loose some of the weight that I have gained. Food wise I have done Weight Watchers, Nutrisystem, Vegitarianism, Raw foodism, calorie counting (under 2000 daily) and for exercise I have done Curves, 24 hour fitness personal trainer, biking to work, yoga classes, pilates, hiking, at-home personal-trainer 3 days a week, and as of the last 2 1/2 months I’ve been doing the P90x work out for an hour every day, just to list some of the things I can remember trying.
I’ve talked to doctors who have tested me for diabetes which my mom has and some other stuff they say I’m healthy and I should work out more, but I excersise so often some days I can hardly get out of bed because my muscles are so sore.
I’ve been doing these programs correctly and the only thing that I ever lost weight on was a 14-day Juice fast I did but I gained all the weight back when I started eating solid food. I am afraid my family has a history of obesity and I will never be able to escape it?
This is so depressing that people who just meet me automatically think I’m some "lazy fat person" because my weight I can’t get it off and I don’t know what to do.
A friend of mine said that maybe I have a mental block against loosing weight and that I should get hypnotized but I thought that didn’t work and why would I have a mental block about loosing weight anyway?
Any suggestions??????
I’ve also used some diet pills – Hydroxycut, DexC-20, Hoodia, CFR’s Metobolic Fat Burner, etc etc etc. Pretty much they’re all bogus IMHO.
I have decided that it is time to become healthier and try to lose weight. I am interested in the Living/Raw Foods diet but I eat a large amount of Beef / Dairy and chicken and pork. I need to know if it would harm me to include organic dairy and chicken and very little beef and pork. It will be very hard to switch completely…
What are my options I HATE FISH except canned tuna and that cant be healthy with all the mercury…
I’m 92lbs and my weight is always stable. Recently I’ve discovered a raw food diet and I felt unbelievably good after staying on it for 3 days, that I want to incorporate it into my normal diet (pescitarian). I’m just worried that I might lose weight on it, which I can’t really afford to do.
Hello, I am a person who is making the Health food transition to help with my health problems diabetes, high cholesterol, and HIV it was recommended that I use ” perfect food Super Green” food supplement for over all health however the person who recommended it to me was unaware of my diabetes, high cholesterol was wondering if anyone could recommend the best product for someone with the above mentioned health problems.
That is living non-animal foods like seeds, sprouts, and freshly harvested plants? What is this sort of diet called?
It’s not vegan– not all vegan foods are living– like vegan bread, for example.
