Concerned about super picky Finch?
My green singing male Finch ONLY eats the small spherical dark-colored rape seeds and will not, ever, ever eat millet in the seed blend, or canary grass seed, or oat groats or…anything else!
Well, he does eat corn but rape seeds and corn are the only things he eats and I am frustrated since I care for his health and I am afraid he is not getting proper nutrition.
What can I do to get him to eat other foods without me investing hours into "training" him with a clicker or what not?
Thank you!!

What you have there is wild green finch. in their natural habitat only rape seed is available and that’s what the bird is used to eat and therefore never gonna eat the other seeds. Dont worry as long the bird is eating you got nothing to worry.
Is it definitely a Green Singing Finch or a Green finch as they are two different species.
If it is a Green finch(Carduelis chloris)then that explains as to why it is only eating Rape and Wheat and I believe your bird is a captive wild bird.
If it is a Green Singing Finch(Serinus mozambicus) then I can not explain why it will not eat millet,as their main food is millets and canary seed.
As for training with a Clicker forget it ,you will spend many hours and get no where.
Check on the web site for European Finches.
As for the down markers of phociny 8 he could be right.and they have not given an answer.
