Does anybody follow or have opinions about a raw food diet?
I’m doing some research on the subject and would love to have input. Recipes, experiences, rants… whatever!

Hi Jenn– I went on a 100% raw food diet 9 years ago when I got a breast cancer diagnosis, also had fibromyalgia, chronic sinus problems and many other ailments. I cured myself of all of them– they all went away in the first month and I’m still in perfect health today! I’m a great-grandmother too! Raw foods are loaded with nutrients that HELP your body, whereas the standard American diet causes a multitude of diseases and ailments. I make all sorts of great raw food recipes too. A raw food diet is very unhealthy because the person could contract salmonella disease.
I think the diet is stupid. You can’t get the essential vitamins and minerals you need from meats because you would have to cook them for it to be safe. I see no reason for all your foods to taste like dirt just so you can be "eating green and natural". Besides, a lot of foods need to be cooked, so you will be cutting out some important food groups. I think this is a hippie bullsh*t diet.
You will consume a lot less chemicals added during the cooking/preparation process, you will be healthier.
It’s a good diet, but the worst part about it is the fact that you can’t go out to eat at restaurants anymore (most of them). It’s extremely hard to enjoy food with other "traditional" eaters.
Well,I would miss my prime rib :)
plus that peanut butter thing…hmmm
I am actually for it but only for a few weeks at a time.
you could do the cabbage diet…I lost tons of weight on that
but then that used to be called killer stew…you can only be on that a week or two or you will starve to death…that’s what I heard anyway:)
I eat sprouted lentils every day, and it really makes me feel great. Shiny hair, better skin, more energy. It took a while to get a taste for them, but now I just put some curry sauce or honey on them.
