this is what dogs evolved to eat.
Having fed my dogs this way now for 14 years, they are happier, healthier and fitter. No teeth/gum problems and far fewer vet bills. You will hoever often get a lot of flack from people who have been brainwashed into thinking the only way to feed a dog is with commercially produced dog food. The choice is yours

I think it's the healthiest way to feed your dog - as long as you do your research first.

And no it doesn't kill them, no more so than kibble does.

Yes, dogs can choke on bones. They also choke to death on kibble each year, and on toys, sticks, etc. Each meal needs to be supervised, but everyone should do that, no matter what is being fed.

Add: Julie - hamburger can mean ground beef, which, while not as good as a whole piece of meat, is fine as part of a raw diet.

I think the raw food diet is less of the hamburgers (those are full of fat) and more trying to recreate what dogs would eat in the wild. Animal carcases and things. I understand why people do it, I also understand why people could be put off.

But what do I know? My dog eats canned dog food (though we are trying to get him onto dry).

Correct me if I'm wrong.

My mother put her little beagle on a diet with a lot of meat and no additives or grains- and he was a lot healthier than he was on the traditional kibble.

Think of what your dog's ancestors used to eat before they were domesticated: Their systems are actually geared for more meat than they usually get. By all means, put him on the raw diet.

Good luck!
