Is there a type of "raw food diet" that incorporates meat?
I’m not looking for a fad diet, just a new way of eating. I like the idea of taking out "processed" foods from your diet. Unfortunately, I have pretty low iron levels and my boyfriend is Very much a meat eater, so I can’t go vegetarian.
Is going ALL organic the only thing I can do? … it’s pretty expensive haha

the paliolithic diet.
Some raw diets suggest raw meat, but its a bit of an oxymoron. Meat is one of the MOST processed foods there is. After the animal is slaughtered, meat is injected with antimicrobials and sanitizers to kill off parasites and bacteria from the blood, pus, urine and fecal matter that are inevitably part of the slaughter process. Those antimicrobial solutions contain bleach, and other harsh chemicals. Many people think meat is pristine, and just sliced off the animal in some butcher shop-NOT the case-it is highly processed. You say you "cant" go vegetarian due to low iron levels-again, NOT the case. You can get plenty of iron, B12, and all of the other nutrients you need from plant sources. If you choose to eat meat, then at least make sure you are eating organic, which comes from slightly better conditions than factory farmed, but STILL contains the antimicrobial solutions. Your other option would be to just eat some raw, and some cooked foods-there is no need to follow someone else’s "rules" about what you eat. I had low iron issues when I DID eat meat-now, they are perfectly fine on a long term veggie diet. I would recommend that you check out some good books from your library to help you make some choices about your new way of eating. There is a LOT of hype, and a lot of misinformation on the internet about it. Just be sure you know the facts, and how to maintain a WELL BALANCED diet, regardless of what style of food you go with. I eat about 80 percent raw, the rest lightly cooked. I consume loads of fresh, raw dairy from my own cows-I make butter, kefir, cheese, etc. with the raw milk-its awesome. I avoid all meat, poultry, and seafood, and try to keep foods as close to their natural state as possible. Just make sure to do your homework.
On the low iron use cast iron pans. It works. Just by healthy food and cook your own stuff.
