Its the same idea as antifreeze, its supposedly sweet and cats like the taste of it. None of that type stuff should be used in a home with pets. If you get rid of it, then I bet your cat will stop throwing up. Its a really simple solution here. Why can't you just remove it? Ah, well you didn't explain why :) See how much that helps? I use Lysol lemon scented bathroom cleaner and my cats stear miles clear of it when I use it, they hate the smell. Other than that, wait it out. If at any point, after removing the cleaner, you get ANY sort of vomit from your cat, call the vet again. But I think you have pinpointed the problem.
