You're in luck, I recently tried the raw food diet for two weeks about a month ago.

Provided that you actually commit to the diet, you'll feel a change from the end of the first day. Depending on how old you are, you'll lose a surprising amount of weight in the first few weeks as the body detoxifies itself. I'm 19, 6'1" and weighed 74kg. I went down to 71 by the end of the two weeks, but I didn't lose any muscle mass so I looked impressively lean. My ability to concentrate on something despite distractions also skyrocketed, which was just what I needed with uni exams at the time.

Are you a vegetarian? Even if you are, it takes a ridiculous amount of commitment and will-power to say goodbye to all dairy products and even simple things like bread when you go on this diet. It's more of a lifestyle, but I have no doubt that the benefits get better and better the longer you stick to it. For example, at the peak of his career, Carl Lewis (multiple gold medallist) was on the raw food diet, eating mainly fresh fruit and vegetable juices (1).

As for me, I like meat too much to stay on the diet so after exams were finished I went back to my usual eating plan, although I no longer eat junk food or any food before midday. I like the diet because it's pretty much being vegan without the self-righteousness crap all those hippies have about animals and 'the system' blah blah blah. email me if you decide to commit to it for a while my addi is funky_monk5@yahoo.com

One last thing, this website will answer absolutely anything about the diet:

All the best!
