I want to lose weight, totally. I want to be back to my weight at age 20, which was about 135 lbs, I am now 170lbs. I live in Mexico. I have a hard time getting alot of food items that American’s like me are used to. I eat alot of whole foods, not alot of protein, and I do eat a large variety. Processed foods are not that easy to get here plus they are expensive. If I need bread/cookies, I usually make my own. I modify recipes & use some splenda with the raw sugar. I could eat more salad, more protein, less flour products/sugars. I am a real lazy ass, and I have problems sleeping well, I wake up with a sore body, mostly my side and back (I have a small back problem anyway). I need to exercise more and change my lifestyle. I use the computer/tv way to much. I think I am a tad depressed so I have a hard time starting and doing things. I need a good kick in the ass. Anyway, help. Ideas? I really can’t see a Doctor here, my problems are considered trivial, so I am really on my own.

Purchase Fat Burning Diet

I have 3 dogs and 2 cats.
Both cats are indoor/outdoor and hunt occasionally when out. I fee them Blue Buffalo Wilderness – Duck(Grain Free)
1 of my dogs is on Nature’s Recipe Grain Free Salmon, Pumpkin, and Sweet Potato
1 is on Blue Buffalo Large Breed Fish and Oatmeal
1 is on Blue Buffalo Puppy Lamb and Oatmeal

I know the main concern with switching to raw is that its grain free, but if my cats and 1 dog are already on grain free diets, is there really that much of a difference?

Also, I am very busy (law student & dog trainer), so I wouldn’t be able to feed them raw in the morning. My dogs eat twice a day and my cats eat sparingly. No one is overweight, but I was wondering if I can feed their kibble in the morning and raw at night, or would that throw them off?

Also, I know to feed them 2-3% of their body weight, but I have a 28lb corgi, a 100lb lab, and a 19lb corgi puppy. I can do the math, but I have yet to find recipes or examples besides just ingredients to give them. Anyone have any suggestions for exactly what to give at meals?

Also, I supplement my dogs with fish oil (omega 3 &6) every night, would I need to keep doing this if on raw? How much omega 3 &6 are in actual fish?

SORRY FOR ALL THE QUESTIONS!!! THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

After doing some research on health & nutrition, I have decided to slowly transition myself off the standard American diet and my goal is to one day be 100% raw food vegan. I started the transition about a month ago and I am at about 80% raw and am trying to find recipes to make this a little more interesting. Do you have any recipes you would like to share?

Also, anyone out there has been a raw-food vegan for a long period of time, I would appreciate any tips/advice that you might have to offer from your experience.

Thanks!

I’ve read good words on the raw diet.It sounds great, cats evolved to eat meat & you can be sure that they are get proper nutrition assuming you get a proper recipe.

My vet’s against raw diets b/c of the risk for bacterial infection.I understand.I’m a medical student and even the human stomach’s pH can go down to 1 during digestion, but raw foods are also risky for humans.

Assuming that I am careful with the source of the meat (I’m thinking of whole rabbit carcass cut into chewable pieces, much of the bacterial infection is from grinding meat and mixing meat from an infected animal with meat from other animals), storage, and get a proper recipe, is this ideal compared to highly respected cat food brands like Wellness?

What were the opinions your vets had?

What have you found helpful? Just like human medicine, vets are trained to use commerical products like meds and Rx foods. Little education is given about preventative nutrition. Have you had any useful reads on nutrition?

Every sunday I like to make the week’s meals so my husband can heat up lunch for the kids and there is always dinner ready and I can be with my kids when I get off.

here’s some of what I make now

Bow tie pasta with spaghetti sauce , hamburger and cheese

Egg noodles with cream of mushroom soup and boiled chicken

Lasagna

fruit salad mixed with vanilla pudding powder

Chicken and rice with broccoli

Rice with kielbasa and cheese

Beef & Veggie Stew

I need some new ideas, I particularly like meals where we can portion it as we need. Sometimes we all eat something different, I like for us to have options.

Thanks for sharing your ideas.

how long have you been feeding raw to your dog?
which raw diet are you on ? ( BARF meat and bone kibble & raw ? )
have you or your dog gotten any illness attributed to raw meat?
did you notice any change in your dog since feeding raw?
and how much would it cost to feed 3 60-75 lbs dogs and a 6 lb cat ?
dose your vet have anything to say about your choice for your dogs diet?
also has you vet said anything about your dog thats attributed to raw? ( like if hes noticedd a change etc etc etc)
and any other helpfull advice would be appreciated

I purchased Hoodoba Hoodia Gordonii Plus a couple of hours ago from their website. As I’m from Australia the pills will be imported here from the US. The Hoodoba brand is a trusted brand and has all the correct authentication certificates including the C.I.T.E.S.certificate. Will it have any problems with Customs? I paid 0 US so for it so I hope there no hold up but is it possilbe that even with the C.I.T.E.S documentation it won’t be able to get in?

& does customs need the C.I.T.E.S to ensure it’s coming from a legal source? If so, i don’t think there should be any problems however I read something about IIW & IIA on the documents and aparently only IIA are approved here in Aus.. pretty confusing stuff.

Can anyone shed some light on this? I don’t want to have wasted all that money for something I won’t recieve.

I am raising her as a vegetarian and would like some healthy but yummy meal ideas for her. She eats one scrambled egg in the morning with whole wheat toast & fruit every morning, but for lunches & dinners I need some ideas. I cannot give her what I am eating as I am on a crash only veggie diet. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
I DON’T eat eggs but I do give them to her as she does need protein & she is too young for nuts.

The only things that I eat are oatmeal, applesauce, toast & jelly, fruit and vegetables. I have had to cut out more & more because I gain weight so easily. I am still not losing weight; in fact I feel pretty bloated often. Most people would lose weight on my diet but not me. I live in the city so I am walking a lot. But I can’t seem to lose weight. What can I do?

As most of us know, detoxing is an amazing way of cleansing the body. I know theres soo many products out there that promise you these great results, but do they work? I’m currently researching bout detoxing systems and how the body benefits from it. I’d like to know whether you’ve tried a product & what your results were before & after using it. Did you have weight gain, over-sweating, body odor, bad skin, or hair loss? What would you say is the best product?

Was the product costly or was it a good bargain?

If you could provide a link to the site of a product, please do so.

Hi, I have 2 shih tzus and a frenchie. Currently I feed them Natural Balance Chicken & Sweet potato and today we tried the raw food diet. Everyone seemed to like it. I made a mixture of uncooked chicken livers, celery, and carrots. I wanted to know if anyone has their dog on the raw food diet? What good/ bad effects have you noticed? Overall what’s your opinion of it?

If anyone could help this would be an answer to my prayers…please

I’ll be 17 years old in 2 months… i’m 5’5,150 lbs, 9% fat…..i have not been consistent with weight training for the past 2.5 years…all i do is play basketball now….but i have like zero energy and very little appetite and aching joints…i have not lost weight though…please tell me why?

…when i was 14 i had energy out of this world and i ate like over 4,000 calories a day ( i promise) but all i did was weight training & i still played ball but not as much…..Help Me Please

I was wandering if i put on like 5-10 or more pounds of muscle in the next 2-3 months…would that increase my energy…..oh and how do I increase my appetite because i can’t eat as much as i uses to…..was it the weight training i used to do that made me hungry ..

I always wandered..should I stop playing ball for a while and just Lift

She has had diahrrea lately. Well it’s super bad. IDK if its the food or what. I think my cat Leo HAD tapeworms. I think they are gone now. But when he had them he had diahrrea too. Is it possible to pass on tapeworms?

But now my kitty Shadoe is sick just like Holly, tho not quite as bad. Shadoe was like this too when she was little. Does anybody know what is wrong maybe? I don’t give them milk, and they eat Special Kitty cat food (in the green bag).
I forgot to say that are outside cats 24/7.

Their mom was a stray. (She recently got ran over). Graycie had Leo (it’s her son). And Shadoe & Holly were her granddaughters.

Hi,

At the moment we’re feeding our cats Tuna & raw meat. They seem to be thriving on it really well. They are active, don’t get sick much, accept for the occassional cold.

We also have used in the past regular store bought dry cat food. They were ok with that accept a bit chubbier.

Which do you feed your cat & why? Is it better to give them store bought food?

Thank you.

Thanks.

Hi, I have a new outdoor cold water pond, and five fish have died in two days. :-( I just went & purchased a ph kit and it reads high alkaline (blue). What do you recommend we do? I’m really worried I’m going to wake up tomorrow morning to more dead little ones. I have a filter and air pump, with two ‘live’ aquarium plants.I have read various things about adding some sort of product to the water, but it appears this may not be the solution.
Do I change the water in the whole tank or do I do part change? Should I put the remaining fish into a fish ‘hospital’ with salt water and wait until I can balance the ph? Should I buy some distilled water and mix it with half tap water? Your best answers from experience would be great. Thanks in advance.

What are the pros & cons of being on either one? Right now I’m on a raw food diet & have now lost 8 lbs in 6 weeks. My friend is on a protein rich diet and has lost 20 lbs in two months.

I have a cat and two kittens, aside from the mother cat I’m fostering for the local shelter. My cat, Tigger, is a Maine Coon Cat that weighs 16 pounds. In some cases that can be a healthy weight for Maine Coons but she’s extreamly fat and none of the conventional diet food have worked for her, not even the vet recommended Medi-Cal. I’ve been doing research on BARF (Bones & Raw Food) diets thinking maybe that the lack of preservatives might do her some good. What do you think?

I’ve been hearing ALOT about various colon cleanse products. Some seem legit others..not so much. Butt ; ) the concept does seem to make alot of sense and is something I’d like to try.
I have a pretty sensible and healthy diet, drink lots of water, exercise butt can’t seem to lose these last few lbs around my stomach. I can honestly say I’ve never been one of those people who "go" everyday but lately I feel rather bloated (look it too) and uncomfortable.
Would something like Activia be just as good to help me "empty out" and possibly lose some of my bloated belly. But I also do really like the idea of ridding myself of toxins…so that’s why I thought a cleanse might be better. I’ve heard alot of good about Colonx by Dr Natura..but again is their one that can be bought @ an actual nutrition store?
**if you are a company trying to sell or promote your product please don’t even bother..looking for honest unbiased answers & feedback
Eli..did I not state I already DO have a sensible diet? Better than most as in I drink lots of water, try buying organic products, stay away from hormones or processed foods….you sound a BIT like a bogus poster as in I also stated no one pushing products. Some of thos eso called "free trials" get you sucked into an auto shipment that bill you upwards or or more per month. SO NOT what I’m looking for.
*** Good idea though abou the setting up on secondary gift/credit card ; )

**some of the product that I saw avail able @ the health &nutrition store (more naturual than say the GNC type) were:
Super Colon Cleanse by Health Plus
Super Cleanse by Natures Secret
Simple Cleanse by Enzmatic Therapy

I have ended m netflix membership because we weren’t really watching the movies. I switched grocery stores. I’ve been going to a big chain store since I was a kid. Now I only go there for meat. I go to the super discount place now and pay .45 cents for a can of corn instead of .85 cents for the brand name on sale! I make my own laundry detergent and other cleaning products (saves money & are ‘green’ too). We routinely have ‘poker night’ at my house w/family and friends instead of meeting out somewhere. Cook at home ALOT more-family dinners out only 1x a month now.I live in WI, so I garden seasonally. This year I made my garden bigger and added some herbs, plan on freezing a bunch. I condense ALL trips in the car, we all walk more and I started letting my kids take the city bus ‘cuz it’s cheaper than me carting them around….how ’bout you?

I went from a junk food diet for many years to a better diet to now eating small healthy meals throughout the day…Now I want more energy but no in a hyper way. I really want stable energy. I want to make commintment to do things that will require me to be mentally at my best. I want energy, clarity. Do you purposely do anything so you will be more alert? What is the best diet for someone ready to live their best life now?
