so please help!
My girlfreind has had an eating disorder for a long time. Last year (before i was with her) she started not eating and sleeping all the time and drinking coffee for energy and eating peanut butter to stay full and just never eating and it got really bad from wat i understand, anyway when we met she was fine and she was over it and she never had a problem until recently. Shes taught herself how to throw up, she doesnt do it all the time but if we eat a lot of bad food then shell get really upset and do it, shes not fat but shes a little big which i think she gets mixed up. I never know wat to say to her after she does this because i get really upset too and i discourage it and tell her to fight it and all this stuff but she says it doesnt help and usually gets more upset at me for it, so she told me to tell her everythings gonna be ok and not to worry about it after it happens which does make her feel better but i think that it makes her feel like its not a bad thing to do and she can keep doing it, so i dont know wat to do and its a really upsetting thing to deal with and i just need to know how to act and what to say.
I started a new lifestyle on January 1st 09 which consisted of changing my eating habits and exercising regularly. Since then-I have lost 45 lbs but I still don’t have energy. I eat btwn 13-1500 calories a day. I don’t drink soda or coffee. May do fast food maybe once every 2 weeks in moderation. I exercise at least 5 days a week for about 90 minutes. But I often feel extra sluggish and lethargic. Could this be like a vitamin deficiency? I haven’t taken any weight loss supplements or pills ever. Should I implement something else into my diet. More protein? I eat a lot of leafy veggies and lean protein already.
Or could it be that I’m not getting enough calories? I eat 1300-1500 per day but then when I exercise I burn btwn 600-800 calories. So I net for the day- about 700 calories. Should my net calories actually be 1300-1500 even after the exercise? Please help-I hate feeling like this.
Helpful, non-sarcastic answers only. Thanks!
Additionally , I thought I’d add that I sometimes feel light-headed and dizzy.
Rocky-thank you. And I run my own clothing store. But I make sure to get at least 7 hrs of sleep everyday. And I do eat all three meals. Sometimes-I do have trouble fitting in breakfast and I’ll eat one of those protein meal replacement bars. Thanks for your help.
for some reason, i dont have a lot of energy. i am a college student and i should be buzzing with energy but i dont, and it worries me because i have a lot of responsibilities and i need energy to see them through. is there anything that i can eat or a pill i can take to give me an energy boost? i dont like coffee and i try to stay clear of energy drinks, i dont need to get addicted to anything. what are some foods that i could eat to give me energy? if that fails, i will search for a pill.
i have a 2 1/2 year old and a 2 month old and i watch my 18month old neice mon thru friday 8 to530. i eat a very healthy diet of lots of whole grains, fresh fruit and veggies and i work out 2 hours a day. i also work from home and go into my office from about 530 to 930 a couple times a week. my 2 month old sleeps very well at night only gets up 1 to 2 times but m 2 1/2 year old just moved to a toddler bed and his whole sleep schedule is messed up. I cant get him to stay in his room and nap and its very difficult to get him to bed and some nights he will get up at 3am for no reason and be up for the day. my husband is a sheriff and works the night shift 6 days a week so i am alone with the kids at night. i normally go to the gym at from 1 to 3 when my husband gets up but i want to start going right when he gets home at 6am. i used to do this before our daughter was born and i felt better and more energetic through out the days. I now feel sluggish and have migranes everyday from lack of sleep and energy.

This question is being asked out of curiosity, I am not going to live off chocolate or do anything as drastic as that. But, I have a friend at school who is slightly shorter than me, shes 5"7 and she weighs 99-105lb naturally. She didn’t used to eat (used to live off liquids), but now shes starting to add foods back into her diet again. She never exercises, and i’m assuming she consumes more than 2000 calories per day. Shes constantly drinking a full fat 600 calorie milkshake, or eating melted ice cream and coffee. Why is she this skinny, if she has a high calorie diet? Is it the source of food her calories come from that matters?
Me on the other hand, I am heavier. My naturally weight is around 9stone (when I was 5"6), but since this weight I have lost. I now weigh 109lb – I’m 5"8. To maintain this weight, I literally cannot eat over 1400 calories, or I will GAIN. I’m 13 years old.
Usually the heavier the person, the better their BMR, why is my friend thinner than me then? She has practically NO FAT, but I have a lot. We wear the same size clothes, but my build is different – I have wide hips and broad shoulders.
Please help, I just want to know!
I kept walking, but I was so exhausted. I used the money in my father’s wallet to buy food and something to drink. I had no clue where I was, I had to be close to grandma’s house by now, but all I had to go on was an envelope with an address on it.
I was too tired to go any farther, so I sat down on the side of the road and tried to get a little rest. Right as I was drifting off into sleep, bright lights made me open my eyes. An old, beat-up truck slowed and the window rolled down.
“Do you need a ride?” A husky voice asked. I knew it was not a good idea to get in the car, but I was just going to get lost if I kept walking. “Yeah, thanks.” I said as I opened the passenger door.
“So, where are you going?” he said as the car started. “Uh,” I reached in my pocket to find the envelope, “265 Edgewood Lane in Green County.”
“Great! That’s where I was heading anyway. I’m Landon by the way.” He was actually really cute. Landon had brown, shaggy hair falling into his eyes, bright green eyes, and a very white boyish smile. “I’m Lillian. Thanks for picking me up, but do you think you could just wake me up when we get there?” He started laughing and just nodded his head.
I laid my head against the window and finally fell asleep.

“Lillian? Good morning, how are you feeling?” he asked. “Uh, fine. Where are we?” I said, still groggy from sleeping.
“Well, we’re almost there. Do you want to get breakfast or something? My treat.” He looked over and flashed me a big smile.
“Oh, you’ve already done so much, it’s fine.” I said as I yawned.
“Really, not even a coffee? You seem really tired.” “Yeah, I’m sure. How long ‘til you think we’re there?” He laughed a little, “Let’s see, about 30 seconds.”
We started driving down a long twisted driveway. In the distance you could see a small cabin with smoke coming out of the chimney. “Why haven’t I seen you before? I work for the woman that lives here.”
“Oh, I’m just visiting, my grandmother lives here.” He shot another smile at me before he stopped the car. “Hopefully you stay for a while.” He said as he got out of the truck. “Well, there you go. Home sweet home.” He opened my door and grabbed my bag of clothes.
We started walking towards the house. “Thanks so much again. You really helped me back there.”
“Honestly, I’m happy I found you on the side of the road.” He laughed then knocked on the door. “It was no trouble though.”
The door opened and a frail old woman appeared. “Landon! I just made breakfast, would you like to join me?” She asked in a shaky voice. “I can’t, I’m already late for school. I just came to drop off Lillian.” The woman turned and saw me for the first time. Landon turned towards me. “So, I’ll see you later. Bye Mrs. Asher.” He said with a wave towards my grandmother. He turned and walked down the driveway.
"Now, who are you, sweetheart?" I turned and saw my grandmother staring at me.
Please be harsh.
If you like it or want it to make more sense, here is parts one and two. Thanks!
Part 1- http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;…
I am planning to exercise(walking and jogging) to lose weight this winter. I will be going to the grocery store either today or tomorrow for food. I shop for my boyfriend and I, since we live together. I would like a list of some low calorie foods for two people on a really tight budget(I’m a student and no job).
I always eat breakfast, lunch, and supper. My boyfriend usually skips breakfast and drinks coffee, he usually skips lunch as well, unless it’s the weekend and then he has all 3 meals.
Suppertime would be the meal that we generally eat together and so that meal needs to be hearty like a piece of chicken and veggies or something like that….
I can cook my own breakfast during the week, if I get up earlier. Also, I could have microwave meals or salads for lunch…
So, I’m looking for some foods to include on the grocery list, maybe even some meal ideas, and even some exercise tips would be great…..Thanks in advance. :)
I’m looking to lose 70lbs…..yeah I know it’s a big number but I’ve lost it before. I’m 5’8 female with what I consider a medium to large build. I’d like to get down to 150lbs. I feel that if I just lose 30-40lbs during the winter, that would give me the boost to lose the rest.
I’m Blood Type O Negative, What Drink or Food Can I have for Energy since I cannot have Any Coffee.. I used to drink Coffee til I found out I was Type O and couldn’t have caffeine ..
Where can I find a year long, natural and healthy detox program?
I’m not looking for the “7-day” “3-day” or “4-week” programs. I was told by a nutritionist somewhere that in about a year, I could reduce body water and chemicals, etc. which was healthy compared to these quick corporate programs. He suggested such supplements as Spirulina, Algae, and others. He recommended eating the same as I was but avoiding things like Diet Coke. But otherwise, east normally. I can’t seem to find it on the net. Thanks!
There’s really no such thing as ‘detox’. Eat a healthy diet is all the advice you need. If that ‘nutritionist’ couldn’t point you in the direction of a healthy diet then what sort of nutritionist is he?
There’s plenty on the net, just stay away from those with the scam term ‘detox’ in the title.
