I’ve been a vegan for a while now, but I’d like to make raw foods more central to my diet. I try to eat all my snacks and one meal or so a day raw (or high raw; I’m not especially strict), and so far I feel great!

The problem is: I’m getting a bit sick of the same old smoothies, salads, and homemade Larabars though and would like to follow some new raw food blogs to get inspiration.

I already follow ChoosingRaw.com and Rawmazing.com.

I don’t own a juicer or dehydrator as of right now, so the simpler recipes the better!

Any suggestions?

I have two Chihuahuas who are rather small for the breed. Because of this, I keep a close eye on their eating behaviors so that they maintain a good and healthy weight. Both of them seem to have lost an interest in their dog food (Innova Puppy), so I tried to switch them to another to see if they would like it better. Turns out that they don’t like it either. I am just worried that they are not eating and it will hurt them. They will pick up a piece of food and then spit it back out onto the floor.

My question is if I can create a diet for my dogs with human food, such as chicken, hamburger meat, veggies, and other healthy foods. I know that I could do raw and that is an excellent option, but I just don’t think that is for me. If I could do this option of healthy foods, does anyone have any recipes that could be made?

Okay, so I plan to attain a kitten in the near future… and have researched what type of diet I would like to feed to my cat… having read what they put in canned and dry food I am determined not to give this to my future cat, and have read that using a meat grinder on chicken meat and bones is good for a cat and also that grated carrots are good for them also.. so I was just wondering if there is anyone out there that has some nice recipes that they feed their cats. I am not looking for peoples opinions on whether they think this is a bad idea, I have done my research for it, and I am confident that this is the right approach.

Another thing is get some acidophilis and sprinkle that on the food. Ask Vet for amount for your dog.

My sister’s birthday is tomorrow, and I really want to make her a special treat. The problem is, she recently started a weight-loss program (Metabolic Research, if you are familiar with it) that I myself just finished losing 20 pounds with. We are both eating much healthier, and are limiting our intake of sweets as much as possible, especially my sister since she’s just started. We recently discovered raw recipes, where you make delicious foods using fruits, nuts, and natural sweeteners. Since I am on maintenance, I’m allowed to eat pretty much every recipe we’ve looked at, but my sister can’t have dates or date paste at this point in her diet, and the key ingredient of almost every raw recipe cake or pie dessert is dates or date paste, to bind the dessert together. If anyone can give me a raw recipe for a pie, cake, or even cookies or other yummy dessert that doesn’t need dates or date paste or direct me to a website where I might find one, I would really appreciate. Or, if you can give me an alternative I can use in place of the dates to bind the recipe, I would appreciate it as well. She can have almost any fruit. My sister’s always been there for me, and I want her to have something special on her birthday. Thanks!

Alright, due to medical recommendations, I’m removing animal products from my diet. I’m not going the unhealthy meat substitute route where you eat a bunch of gross processed mock-meat foods. I’ve been eating mostly fruit and veggies (variety of deep leafy greens, etc), making sure to get in B12, taking a vitamin supplement and tofu for protein. What cookbooks and recipes would you recommend for a vegan? Also, any opinions on raw foods?

My dog loves cooked food. She hates dry food, although I buy her a good brand.
Some people believe that dry food is the best solution, because it is formulated to have the nutrients a dog needs.
Some other people believe that fresh high quality ingredients that we’d eat ourselves is the healthiest solution.
I give both opinions some basis. So I want to combine them, by cooking some food and adding some kibble in it, or giving her some cooked meals and some kibble when I don’t have time or ingredients to cook for her.
However, I want to make sure she gets the nutrients necessary in her cooked diet. What would you suggest? I cooked her chicken+chicken livers+rice today. With a few peas in it too. One day I had added pasta instead of rice.
How much rice or pasta is allowed so that she doesn’t have diabetes problem? How much and what type of veg should I add?
NOTE: 1. I know what foods are poisonous and must not be given, so don’t tell me.
2. I also know some people suggest raw food and bones, but I won’t do this so don’t tell me to do that.

My friend was in her mid fifties as she rambled on about cleansing diets and detoxification. Out of respect for your fact she was older than I, my initial ridicule was stuffed back again down my throat and I politely listened. She began to talk about these cleansing processes that at first I believed sounded instead barbaric. Milk thistle just sounded like something prickly to drink. But apparently it had been part of this cleansing diet plan she was speaking about, so again, I nodded politely.

I think she knew that I found the notion of cleansing Hypoglycemic Diet programs a little silly. I left that day rolling my eyes and reminding myself that Kate does those issues, she’s so prepared to attempt some thing new and various just to try to gain an ounce of good health. Less than a week later there was milk thistle and some kind of colon cleansing drink in our pantry. Understanding full well this didn’t belong to anybody in my family members, I questioned my room mate about it, and was told all about the advantages of colon cleansing. This would have produced perception to me if Kate and my room mate were friends, but in reality they’d only met as soon as for less than 3 minutes. To not mention the room mate was not 1 to attempt new issues and to go out of her method to discover the most recent and best well being fad the way Kate did.

I allowed the space mate to take me via these web sites that had nasty, graphic images of the outcomes of colon cleansing. I want to incorporate as raw food as I could into my diet during the summer. But I don’t want want to fork out a couple of hundreds for a product that I will use a few times a year anyway. Does anyone know any good raw uncookbook or good sites with good amount of recipes that doesn’t call for dehydration?

I am trying to go vegetarian and eventually vegan but for now i am trying to at least incorporate more vegetarian and vegan meals in my diet. I also like to try to incorporate some raw foods in my diet. However I have no idea what to do for meals. I am not very creative when it comes to food and I do not want to only be eating salads and veggie sticks but I have no idea how to be creative when it comes to veggies
