I have been on a little of a health kick lately and trying to eat better. So, I though if I’m going to eat less processed foods why not do the same with my dog.
I have done some research and am interested in a raw food diet. Does anyone have their dogs on a raw diet?
Is it cheaper?
Is it safe?
Any good recipes?
What do you think about some of the powders used to add vitamins to the meat?
I was thinking about using this one.

I don’t feed raw, probably never will go the whole route, but I’m interested in it, interested in learning more about it, and interested in incorporating it into my dogs’ diets.
If there were one or two raw food diet "things" I could do for my dogs that was relatively easy, relatively convenient, relatively not-too-messy, what would you raw diet experts recommend it be?
and where would you recommend I go to find it?

I decided to try and switch my dogs dry food to a raw food intake. I did google the subject and i didnt find any cons to the raw food diet, plus, i never been comfortable with the dry food..
Anyone here feeds their dog raw food? i do leave in apartment building and we have carpet so i wont give him whole bones.
How can i transfer my dog to a raw diet food? should i do it right away or just add some raw ingredients to his food? My dog always liked veggies, like carrots and tomatoes. Does raw feeding gives dogs upset stomachs?

I am interested in feeding my beagle pup a raw, homemade diet consisting of lean meats, veggies and egg – a different combination each day, with maximum nutritional value.
Is any one else a fan of feeding their dogs a raw diet?
If so, what meal that you make does your dog love?
Would you say that a raw diet is healthier than a quality dry dog food diet?
Thank you.
PS – Proper answers will get a thumbs up!!

I feed my dog a mix of a little kibble with a raw food diet which consists of venison, chicken and egg. I was just wondering what other people used for their dogs and what you thought about the diet. It works well with my dogs and I don’t have any weight problems and they have great coats. They really love the raw over the kibble that is for sure. It is a little time consuming to get everything ready for them as I have 8 dogs but I think it is worth it in the long run.

Deer necks (meaty) my dogs are power chewers but I don’t know if deer necks are "break bones" and if I’d need to remove the bones after they eat the meat?
Also can they eat beef gullet? Is that a good choice to buy?
Thank you in advance for the help.
These are raw not cooked. Dog food contains a ton of chemicals in it to give it an abnormally long shelf life. I choose to feed my dogs fresh natural food, safely though.

I recently got what I believe is a Shih-Po or Shih-Su mutt. He is only a year old and the Previous owners had him a a raw meat diet. I have never put my dogs on a raw meat diet, and I really don’t have the funds for that. How would one go about switching from a raw meat diet to good kibble?
Thank you for the great answers so far.

After researching online for a long time the benefits of a raw food diet for my dogs, I think I would like to start. However, where can I start shopping for the raw meats and veggies? I know i can’t just go to wal-mart and buy some chicken and ground meat from the meat dept., right? I know someone said the meat has to fresh, the eggs have to be free range fresh, and the veggies and fruits organic—where am i going to find all this??

I’m thinking of adopting a great dane from a rescue facility and have been hearing about the raw dog food diet. I’m really interested in feeding any future dogs this type of diet. I have done some online research and know the basics but I’m wanting to talk to people who actually own danes and feed a raw diet. I’m mostly curious as to how much more expensive this would be than feeding top quality commercial food (say, for a 40lb bag), the quantitiy usually fed (I know it depends on the dog’s age, amount of exercise, ect) frequency (once or twice daily) and the different types of food fed. I’d appreciate any feedback on this! Thanks!

I’d like to switch my dogs to a healthier diet, but I am unable to switch to a completely raw diet due to time and safety issues for my children.
I have 18 mo. old triplets, and a 3 year old. I am not interested in having to deal with raw meat on a daily basis, or to allow it anywhere within my babies reach. No one can persuade me otherwise, but I appreciate your passion for your own practices. I think the Innova dog food is just what we are looking for, thanks to those who answered.

Hello, I have already decided to feed my dogs a raw food diet. I have done research on exactly what types of protein and vegetables are good for them, and what they cannot have. I can't find anywhere how much food exactly I should give them… I mean in ounces or pounds, and how many times a day I should feed them this. Their meals will mainly consist of chicken, lamb, potatoes, carrots, and rice. They are two female adult Golden Retrievers, one a little small for her breed. Any suggestions? Thanks
