I’m vegan and really low income. I currently eat for only 5/mo and cannot do any more than that. I’d like to try a raw vegan diet, but I can’t find much information on cheap raw vegan foods. I don’t need tasty recipes, just simple facts about whats cheap & raw.
I also don’t have a blender, food processor, or dehydrator and I don’t have the money to buy any new equipment. I can’t shop around cause I have no car. I get my groceries on foot/bicycle from the Kroger by me.
If you’re curious, right now I eat 3 servings of fresh fruit/ day (bananas & 5lb bags of cheap fruit), a 4 serving bag of fzn veggies, about 2 servings of peanuts, 2 cups of soymilk, & a lot of cheap filler (like beans, potatoes, brown rice, homemade bread, cereal, pasta, etc) – along with some cheap spices, olive oil, & sauces (like salsa, mustard & ketchup)

I’m going to try this diet/meal plan. Does anyone know if it is good for weight loss/fat loss?
-one bowl of plain Quaker rolled oats oatmeal or toast with peanut butter and fresh fruit for breakfast
-fresh fruit throughout the day, raw or in smoothie form with just ice
-raw/cooked vegetables for dinner
so basically all i’m eating is fruits and vegetable with a little bit of substantial carbs in the morning… will i lose a good amount of weight?
I’m 17 years old, about 130lbs, and have been vegetarian for over a year. Want to try vegan lifestyle now. I still eat beans, legumes, and nuts for protein.
so i just did a recent weigh-in and my current weight is 124lbs at 5’5", not 130…
enjoying either brown or on special occasions lie chinese night havig white rice and broccoli from the resturant all steamed and at me do each meal with brown rice even for snacks enjoy it with meals the three main meals have it with a seamed veggie or fresh fruit is this a good idea, I know it doesn’t have all of the nutrients of eating different grins but i figur if the asians seem o be slim eating rice then it shouldn’t be that bad what do you think?
i have a 2 1/2 year old and a 2 month old and i watch my 18month old neice mon thru friday 8 to530. i eat a very healthy diet of lots of whole grains, fresh fruit and veggies and i work out 2 hours a day. i also work from home and go into my office from about 530 to 930 a couple times a week. my 2 month old sleeps very well at night only gets up 1 to 2 times but m 2 1/2 year old just moved to a toddler bed and his whole sleep schedule is messed up. I cant get him to stay in his room and nap and its very difficult to get him to bed and some nights he will get up at 3am for no reason and be up for the day. my husband is a sheriff and works the night shift 6 days a week so i am alone with the kids at night. i normally go to the gym at from 1 to 3 when my husband gets up but i want to start going right when he gets home at 6am. i used to do this before our daughter was born and i felt better and more energetic through out the days. I now feel sluggish and have migranes everyday from lack of sleep and energy.
any suggestions or something i can take to have more energy while also being a breastfeeding mom?
isnt coffee bad while breastfeeding?
well im do not like coffee anyways i ususally drink caffeine free hot tea or green tea and i try to stay away from pop but i occasionally have it. so maybe i will try caffeinated tea
Ok.. I’ve tried to do a little research on this, and the internet is filled with a myriad of products, plans, etc. claiming to cleanse the colon and detox your system. I am not sure what to think. Are supplements really necessary? If so, are there products out there that are safe, with no "fillers", etc.? Obviously I realize a healthy diet and exercise are a must. I am just looking for a plan to detox my system and clean out the colon… There are so many things out there.. and I’ve also heard scary stories about "natural" products…does anyone have personal experience and/or reliable advice about this? Thanks so much
btw, I already eat plenty of fiber, fresh fruit/veg, and exercise daily.
I want to thank everyone for taking the time to answer. If the general consensus is that a "program" is not necessary, then is there something I can do with diet/fasting for 1-2 days to achieve the same effect? As mentioned, my diet is healthy (includes lots of fiber) and I exercise daily- but too often I still feel "backed up" (sorry, I know it’s not a pretty topic!)
What kind of thing would i be eating, besides salads? what about protein?
I’m already a vegetarian, so the no meat thing isn’t a problem. I love fresh fruit and salads, but is there anything else you can really eat? I just feel like I might have a hard time keeping it up do to lack of variety.
I’m doing a 5 day fast of nothing but water and green tea, and then after I’ll only have raw fruits and veggies with roasted unsalted nuts, green tea and fresh fruit and veg juice. Has anyone else done this diet? From what I’ve read it’s healthy, fast, and something I can do potentially for the rest of my life, and I’m not looking to get talked out of it. I just want to hear other peoples experiences with it. Also, I know I’m going to cheat by allowing coffee with non-dairy creamer and Stevia (or Splenda), will this totally throw things out of whack? I know at least initially, I’m going to need my coffee, it’s my one concession. Thanks.
I won’t be having the coffee coffee during the fast.
