I have been looking around online and ws thinking that maybe a good homemade recipe would be the way to go.
What do you think?
Have you done this?
Heres a little info
You basically cook and puree ingiedients and work into a dough and bake it for kibbles.
A basic formula for a homemade diet would be 50 percent protein, 25 percent vegetables (ground so they are easy to digest), and 25 percent grain (such as rice and oatmeal). Add to that some supplements of certain vitamins, minerals, and oils rich in omega-3 for healthy skin and coat.
There are certain foods you want to avoid, such as fatty meats, cured meat, (sausage, bacon, hot dogs), any fried foods and raw pork. You also want to avoid any milk, cream, ice cream, pastries, white bread, sugary foods, grapes, raisins and onions. Also, keep in mind that anything you consider to be junk food would not be good for your dog.
Healthy foods to give your dog would include raw or cooked lean cuts of meat: beef, poultry, lamb, whitefish and fatty fish (like salmon). Also included in a healthy diet are cooked grains, eggs (raw or cooked), finely chopped or ground raw vegetables (remember, no onions), and bits of fruit (again, remember to give your dog no raisons or grapes).

Would you try it?
I think I’m going to try baking treats….

After reading detailed reviews about people taking colon cleansers and seeing various sci-fi like things come out of themselves, I’m wondering if detox is really useful or not. I once took a 7 day Cleanse program from GNC, and I felt better after using it, but I don’t know if that had more to do with my healthy diet and exercise. I saw all these pictures of intestinal goop and while most research says that the liver can do just fine detoxing the body, what about the goop? All of that stuff can’t be good in the colon, but does it present dangers to ones health to take all that fiber and who knows what else? Technically, what would that in depth, complicated colon cleanse offer that say, a dose of Metamucil couldn’t? All those reviews said they got flatter stomachs, better sleep habits, etc etc etc… What is happening here? I find myself oddly interested in a program, but I don’t want to just be in the bathroom all the time, especially at work.
Thanks!
My Girlfriend & I have been put in a predicament. I’m 16 & she’s 15. We were both living in Abusive situations. Her Family was slowly killing her. They were feeding her nothing but junk & Verbally, Emotionally & occasionally Physically Abusing her.
She has PCOS, Tachycardia & Asthma. They do nothing but Smoke & Insult her all day long. They also have have Roaches & Fleas & their House is literally falling apart & they refuse to do anything about it. My Parents are Alcoholics & don’t do anything but Drink, Eat, Sleep & Throw anything they can get their hands on at me.
We are both Obese but I’m not asking this to lose weight. We moved in w/ each other about 2 months together & are just barely getting by. We are both going to Night School & I work Full Time at the Local Garage & any Odd Jobs that I can. She works Part-Time at the Local Library.
She’s Smart enough into College & actually wants to go, I’m not planning on College. I might have to Drop out & get my GED so I’ll have more time to work. We literally just cannot Afford anything but Canned Foods, Rice, Beans, Potatoes & the Fruits & Veggies on Sale. Usually Carrots, Iceberg Lettuce, Bananas, Grapes & Peaches. That’s including what the Local Church gives us.
I asked this on another site & got nothing but rude comments about how my Girlfriend & I are just Trailer Trash who shouldn’t have gotten knocked up. I want to clarify on this site. My Girlfriend is NOT Pregnant, we didn’t just move in together so we could have Sex whenever we felt like. We are both Virgins, sleep in different rooms & we will remain that way until Marriage. So don’t judge a book by it’s cover.
We can’t get Food Stamps because we’re not Emancipated or Married & we don’t have a Kid. I know that it won’t be the most Healthy Diet but it’s all we can do. If you can Suggest some Vitamins and a Guideline or Menu or something that would be great. I really appreciate the help.
i have a 2 1/2 year old and a 2 month old and i watch my 18month old neice mon thru friday 8 to530. i eat a very healthy diet of lots of whole grains, fresh fruit and veggies and i work out 2 hours a day. i also work from home and go into my office from about 530 to 930 a couple times a week. my 2 month old sleeps very well at night only gets up 1 to 2 times but m 2 1/2 year old just moved to a toddler bed and his whole sleep schedule is messed up. I cant get him to stay in his room and nap and its very difficult to get him to bed and some nights he will get up at 3am for no reason and be up for the day. my husband is a sheriff and works the night shift 6 days a week so i am alone with the kids at night. i normally go to the gym at from 1 to 3 when my husband gets up but i want to start going right when he gets home at 6am. i used to do this before our daughter was born and i felt better and more energetic through out the days. I now feel sluggish and have migranes everyday from lack of sleep and energy.
any suggestions or something i can take to have more energy while also being a breastfeeding mom?
isnt coffee bad while breastfeeding?
well im do not like coffee anyways i ususally drink caffeine free hot tea or green tea and i try to stay away from pop but i occasionally have it. so maybe i will try caffeinated tea
I’ve been hearing ALOT about various colon cleanse products. Some seem legit others..not so much. Butt ; ) the concept does seem to make alot of sense and is something I’d like to try.
I have a pretty sensible and healthy diet, drink lots of water, exercise butt can’t seem to lose these last few lbs around my stomach. I can honestly say I’ve never been one of those people who "go" everyday but lately I feel rather bloated (look it too) and uncomfortable.
Would something like Activia be just as good to help me "empty out" and possibly lose some of my bloated belly. But I also do really like the idea of ridding myself of toxins…so that’s why I thought a cleanse might be better. I’ve heard alot of good about Colonx by Dr Natura..but again is their one that can be bought @ an actual nutrition store?
**if you are a company trying to sell or promote your product please don’t even bother..looking for honest unbiased answers & feedback
Eli..did I not state I already DO have a sensible diet? Better than most as in I drink lots of water, try buying organic products, stay away from hormones or processed foods….you sound a BIT like a bogus poster as in I also stated no one pushing products. Some of thos eso called "free trials" get you sucked into an auto shipment that bill you upwards or or more per month. SO NOT what I’m looking for.
*** Good idea though abou the setting up on secondary gift/credit card ; )
**some of the product that I saw avail able @ the health &nutrition store (more naturual than say the GNC type) were:
Super Colon Cleanse by Health Plus
Super Cleanse by Natures Secret
Simple Cleanse by Enzmatic Therapy
I was wondering what would be a good diet, im about 5ft 4′ and weight around I think… 120-125 pounds… what is a good healthy diet of food to make me stay in good shape and get some of that belly fat off, im also a vegetarian and maybe a few good excises to do also .. Thanks!
Ok.. I’ve tried to do a little research on this, and the internet is filled with a myriad of products, plans, etc. claiming to cleanse the colon and detox your system. I am not sure what to think. Are supplements really necessary? If so, are there products out there that are safe, with no "fillers", etc.? Obviously I realize a healthy diet and exercise are a must. I am just looking for a plan to detox my system and clean out the colon… There are so many things out there.. and I’ve also heard scary stories about "natural" products…does anyone have personal experience and/or reliable advice about this? Thanks so much
btw, I already eat plenty of fiber, fresh fruit/veg, and exercise daily.
I want to thank everyone for taking the time to answer. If the general consensus is that a "program" is not necessary, then is there something I can do with diet/fasting for 1-2 days to achieve the same effect? As mentioned, my diet is healthy (includes lots of fiber) and I exercise daily- but too often I still feel "backed up" (sorry, I know it’s not a pretty topic!)
I was watching ‘wife swap’ the other day and there was a family on the show that only ate a raw food diet. And i mean everything was raw, their meat, eggs, they didn’t drink water or milk but the milk fat from their cows and they even aged the raw meat in glass jars. Is this a healthy diet or is this family taking it too far?
Hello all, thanks for any advice. Basically, I am looking to find either good websites, or more importantly a few good books on the subject of eating for energy rather than for weight loss or anything like that. I find I am very often lethargic during the day, and to say I do not have a healthy diet would be an understatement, so I figure that’s the best place to start. :)
I am taking advice from the many caring people here at Yahoo Answers and trying to straighten my life from my recently breakup and a healthy diet and exercise is what I am going to focus on. Raw Food Diet sounds great and probably just what I need to get me over this depression. Please share some of your favorite recipes from this diet here with me and the people here. Thank you all so much.
