I want to lose weight, totally. I want to be back to my weight at age 20, which was about 135 lbs, I am now 170lbs. I live in Mexico. I have a hard time getting alot of food items that American’s like me are used to. I eat alot of whole foods, not alot of protein, and I do eat a large variety. Processed foods are not that easy to get here plus they are expensive. If I need bread/cookies, I usually make my own. I modify recipes & use some splenda with the raw sugar. I could eat more salad, more protein, less flour products/sugars. I am a real lazy ass, and I have problems sleeping well, I wake up with a sore body, mostly my side and back (I have a small back problem anyway). I need to exercise more and change my lifestyle. I use the computer/tv way to much. I think I am a tad depressed so I have a hard time starting and doing things. I need a good kick in the ass. Anyway, help. Ideas? I really can’t see a Doctor here, my problems are considered trivial, so I am really on my own.

Purchase Fat Burning Diet

I recently went on a raw food diet (3 days ago)
the past couple days I’ve felt sick, and today I have diarrhea, but I don’t feel sick today.
Do you think its some form of detoxifying my body?
Ive barely had any bowel movements before today in the past couple of days.
Sorry to be so graphic, but I need help.
a raw food diet (lifestyle) really only consists of plant foods. So I’m not sick from eating raw meat.
Thanks for the concern though

I’m going to try this diet/meal plan. Does anyone know if it is good for weight loss/fat loss?
-one bowl of plain Quaker rolled oats oatmeal or toast with peanut butter and fresh fruit for breakfast
-fresh fruit throughout the day, raw or in smoothie form with just ice
-raw/cooked vegetables for dinner
so basically all i’m eating is fruits and vegetable with a little bit of substantial carbs in the morning… will i lose a good amount of weight?
I’m 17 years old, about 130lbs, and have been vegetarian for over a year. Want to try vegan lifestyle now. I still eat beans, legumes, and nuts for protein.
so i just did a recent weigh-in and my current weight is 124lbs at 5’5", not 130…

I started a new lifestyle on January 1st 09 which consisted of changing my eating habits and exercising regularly. Since then-I have lost 45 lbs but I still don’t have energy. I eat btwn 13-1500 calories a day. I don’t drink soda or coffee. May do fast food maybe once every 2 weeks in moderation. I exercise at least 5 days a week for about 90 minutes. But I often feel extra sluggish and lethargic. Could this be like a vitamin deficiency? I haven’t taken any weight loss supplements or pills ever. Should I implement something else into my diet. More protein? I eat a lot of leafy veggies and lean protein already.

Or could it be that I’m not getting enough calories? I eat 1300-1500 per day but then when I exercise I burn btwn 600-800 calories. So I net for the day- about 700 calories. Should my net calories actually be 1300-1500 even after the exercise? Please help-I hate feeling like this.

Helpful, non-sarcastic answers only. Thanks!
Additionally , I thought I’d add that I sometimes feel light-headed and dizzy.
Rocky-thank you. And I run my own clothing store. But I make sure to get at least 7 hrs of sleep everyday. And I do eat all three meals. Sometimes-I do have trouble fitting in breakfast and I’ll eat one of those protein meal replacement bars. Thanks for your help.

What is some advice you can give me from personal experience/facts? :-)
My parents are not supportive of the lifestyle but will help me with buying/making the food.

I was wondering how bad Monster Energy is for a person who lives the lifestyle I do. I know that it is bad for any lifestyle, but I was wondering if mine cancelled out some of the negative effects.

Every morning I wake up and eat about 2 to 3 servings of Cheerios or Special K. For lunch I always eat a salad with a couple slices of Turkey and a slice of whole wheat bread (Balsamic Vinegar is my dressing), then for dinner I eat one serving of whatever my parents make (moderately healthy).

I work as a camp counselor and spend most of my morning being a slave to kid, which can be quite exhausting.

I also run 3.25 miles everyday.

I generally drink a Monster after work, and I was just wondering how devastating this is on me (not my wallet).

I have started on a quest to shed some pounds and get healthier recently. In order to do this I have been counting calories (1,450 per day) and jogging two miles every morning (I’m planning on increasing my distance/pace as time goes on).
My problem is that, in spite of eating 5-6 small meals a day and drinking 2 litres of water, I always seem to be hungry. I’m assuming that this is just my body adapting to my change in eating habits (I’ve always stuck with healthy foods (i.e. no fast food/fried foods/sugary foods), but now I am eating much smaller portions).
So my question is: Would hoodia gordonii be worth investigating until my body adapts to my new lifestyle?
I have done my research and am eating the proper amount of calories for my lifestyle.

Hey Guys n Gals,

I’m curious about starting a veggie diet. I’ve lost a lot of weight, but I’ve heard a lot of good things about a balanced vegetarian meal plan. I’m not just looking into it for the fat thing, but more for an overall lifestyle and health change. Any good sources for a veggie diet meal plan?

Hello. I am very interested in taking up a raw food diet / lifestyle because of all of the health benefits. However, I am unsure of exactly what to eat for breakfast/lunch/dinner/snack in order to get the sufficiant amount of nutrients and calories. There has to be raw food dieters out there on Yahoo Answers. If so, can you give me a sample menu with stuff that I can find at a local grocery store on the east coast. Thanks a million,

Help! I want to eat a more natural, unprocessed diet primarily of veggies and fruit. Eggs and seafood are okay too as are nuts, but I don’t want to be soaking nuts or sprouting seeds. I want to get my calcium from vegetable sources rather than dairy and I want to cook my food as well rather than blend and eat everything raw. I need some recipes and support for this lifestyle but I don’t know where I fit in. The raw recipes don’t do it and the macrobiotic ones include soy, which I don’t want to eat either. Anyone know what I’m looking for?

I am currently on a raw food diet, not so much as a diet as I want to make this as a lifestyle. So if Im on a 100% raw food diet, and I do not exercise at all, will I lose weight? And how much do you think I will lose p/w?

Okay, I am not only going on a diet, I’m going to try to turn my whole lifestyle around too. I want to eat healthier so I feel better physically and about myself. But first things first- I need to lose some weight, and so I was wondering, does anyone have some helpful food suggestions?? try to think cheap please if possible (because I’m a highschool student with only a weekend job, so I don’t make much money.) And also any helpful little routine excersises? I have the basics, but other ideas wouldn’t hurt to try out.
thanks!

I have spent countless hours researching raw foodism and I have yet to find a meal plan that provides enough calories/nutrition for someone with an active lifestyle for 1 day. If you have any links or a meal plan you could give me I would be EXTREMELY grateful. Thank you!!

i go on a 100% raw diet every now and again to get more nutrients. lately i have gained 10 kg via emotional bingeing. i hear that eating a raw food diet will lead to quick weight loss, but for me its a hard lifestyle to maintain for life. is there a way i can eat cooked food and maintain any weight loss i achieve through raw foodism (if i of course watch my calorie intake)? or is there more to it? thx
im not asking about weight loss. im asking about weight MAINTENANCE on a more cooked-food diet after eating all raw to lose the weight. thx

I’ve heard of raw vegans or raw foodists, and would like someone to explain this lifestyle.

Does it have an impact on the physical, spiritual, psychological, and/or environmental aspects of life. And, is it possible to keep it up as a lifestyle?

I am trying to think of moral reasons etc. for such a lifestyle…. Is it just a diet, similar to the concept of going on Jenny Craig (sans cooking and meat)?

I’m just curious.
Thanks
Hmmm, maybe I am missing something. I thought a raw diet had only uncooked foods.

Standard vegans definitely cook their food… and can get lots of calories and fat.

And I suppose I should add that I am not looking to go on a diet; I have just been seeing a lot of "raw" questions lately.

I’ve been reading many books on raw foodism, I am almost 14 and I really want to make it my lifestyle, but my parents complain that fresh produce is too expensive… it’s not like I’m expecting the to buy everything organic but I do understand that we’re going through a tight spot in a 5 person family with my dad on unemployment.

So… I need some realistic suggestions for me right now.

Do people who are on this diet actually prefer eating cold food vs. warm?
Why can’t raw meats/fish be included in this diet? I am obviously talking theoretically about safe raw meat free of diseased bacteria. Vegetables can contain poisons from the environment just as likely as an animals meat can contain harmful bacteria’s, so given this theory – why is meat and fish left out of this lifestyle?
happybid – I think you need to reread the question. It was not, what is a Vegan? It was, why does this diet have to be veggie or Vegan?
Heelbell – you too, I know that meats and veggies can have harmful things in them; this is why I was speaking theoretically, as I stated. You can get harmful bacteria at a farmers market, nothing is absolute. Besides I grow my own. This was a question of the raw diet not including meat and fish, (which by the way I would eat steak tartar and sashimi multiple times a week without a problem.) And it's not "obvious that there are a lot of people" on it. I just happend to be a very informed, intelligent person, who likes to learn new things all the time. So next time you want to answer my question I'd appreciate it if you were not so smug and answer the question asked. Not trying to be pissy here but kind of annoid.

personal fitness training businesses
If I’m an RN-BSN, and a Personal Trainer, can I have my own office for my clients to come to?

I would like to further my nursing career and use my personal training certification to better people’s health through nutrition and fitness. Conditions such as Hypertension, Overweight/Obesity, Type 2 Diabetes, Depression, High Cholesterol, and other conditions that can be solved through fitness and nutrition. However, I’m not sure if I can use my own office space to run my own business with my degree/certification

Check your state laws carefully but I am not aware that the scope of practice for an RN-BSN allows people to ‘treat’ conditions from an independent office in the manner you suggest. You could certainly become a nurse educator within a hospital organization.

It would be wise for you to become a Nurse Practitioner – they have more independence and could set up an office along the lines you are suggesting.

[mage lang="" source="flickr"]detox diet example[/mage]
I need help regarding detox/fasting~!~!?

I am planning to lose weight and have already started my diet. However feel confused as read many articles regarding detoxing or fasting for few days to clense the body first~!~! Please advice how to do it and what kind of fasting should i do….. Example eat what kind of food/drinks during detox period.

whatever you do, its the nutrition that plays a mojor role in weight management. Its like having the right fuel to drive your vehicle:
Men1″=1kg=2.2lbs and women 1″=800gms=1.76lbs standard weight
Fat% men 16% and women 26% upto age 39ys
Calorie intake:- 2000-2200 for men and 1500-1800 for women
If you adhere to this parameter you can lose or gain weight by using cellular nutrition- available in 63 countries currently, only through authorised constants-replacing two of you meals with cellular nutrition and having one meal of your choice, plus drinking one liter of water for every 20ks=44lbs to lose weight 1 to 2 lbs per week which includes detoxification, and you need to do weight maintenance for equal period for you not to gain back what you lost

Liquid Diet- Day 3
