I want to find a really simple recipe book, I don’t mind having to soak nuts over night so much, but their is lot of stuff where you need a dyhydrater and I don’t have one. I have a blender, a rubish juicer (need a good one) a spangler and a grater.

Also does anyone know any good books on recipes for the 80/10/10 diet?

Purchase Fat Burning Diet

One of my best friends has Crohn’s. He cannot eat raw foods, such as: vegetables, fruits and nuts. He also has trouble with dairy and some starchy-carbs. Such foods cause "flare-ups" of his Crohn’s. Pretty much the only food he has no trouble digesting is meat.

What kind of recipes can be prepared for him?

My sister’s birthday is tomorrow, and I really want to make her a special treat. The problem is, she recently started a weight-loss program (Metabolic Research, if you are familiar with it) that I myself just finished losing 20 pounds with. We are both eating much healthier, and are limiting our intake of sweets as much as possible, especially my sister since she’s just started. We recently discovered raw recipes, where you make delicious foods using fruits, nuts, and natural sweeteners. Since I am on maintenance, I’m allowed to eat pretty much every recipe we’ve looked at, but my sister can’t have dates or date paste at this point in her diet, and the key ingredient of almost every raw recipe cake or pie dessert is dates or date paste, to bind the dessert together. If anyone can give me a raw recipe for a pie, cake, or even cookies or other yummy dessert that doesn’t need dates or date paste or direct me to a website where I might find one, I would really appreciate. Or, if you can give me an alternative I can use in place of the dates to bind the recipe, I would appreciate it as well. She can have almost any fruit. My sister’s always been there for me, and I want her to have something special on her birthday. Thanks!

I’m going to start the raw food diet on new years and was wondering how much is too much nuts? A lot of my recipes are for raw desserts or raw fruit based recipes so they call for nuts in almost every recipe. I want to lose weight that’s why I’m doing this diet but would I lose weight if I consumed nuts all day since they’re high in healthy fat, but still fat? Thanx.

I’m going to try this diet/meal plan. Does anyone know if it is good for weight loss/fat loss?
-one bowl of plain Quaker rolled oats oatmeal or toast with peanut butter and fresh fruit for breakfast
-fresh fruit throughout the day, raw or in smoothie form with just ice
-raw/cooked vegetables for dinner
so basically all i’m eating is fruits and vegetable with a little bit of substantial carbs in the morning… will i lose a good amount of weight?
I’m 17 years old, about 130lbs, and have been vegetarian for over a year. Want to try vegan lifestyle now. I still eat beans, legumes, and nuts for protein.
so i just did a recent weigh-in and my current weight is 124lbs at 5’5", not 130…

I am raising her as a vegetarian and would like some healthy but yummy meal ideas for her. She eats one scrambled egg in the morning with whole wheat toast & fruit every morning, but for lunches & dinners I need some ideas. I cannot give her what I am eating as I am on a crash only veggie diet. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
I DON’T eat eggs but I do give them to her as she does need protein & she is too young for nuts.

I’m not planning on switching to the raw diet to lose weight, but I’m worried about the high fat content of a lot of the "permitted" foods (especially the nuts). I really like nuts and since they seem the most filling (although I know they are not necessarily), I’m scared that I’ll be eating to many of them and gaining weight. Has anybody tried the raw diet before? Did you actually gain weight? Did you limit the amount of nuts you ate (and if so, by how much)?

Does anyone have salad recipes that are high in nutrition, hitting all the recommendations for healthy eating? I used to have one bookmarked, but the article was taken down.

I think it was built around the revised food pyramid; it included raisins to help with the fruit requirement, almonds and tuna for fish/nuts requirement, some chunks of cheese for the dairy needs, an olive oil based dressing, and spinach, red and green peppers, and other lettuce for the bulk.

I’m not finding much online – there are salads with healthy traits, but none that cover all the nutritional bases. Does anyone have salad recipes that address all your nutritional needs (aside from the breads/grains requirements)?
I’m not looking to ‘detox’ or diet, just want a recipe that provides everything a body needs . .

I am a recovering anorexic, and i need to put on at least 10 lbs in order to stay out of inpatient. (i am 17, 5’4 and around 80lbs now). I still have many fears and doubts about this, but i know i need to be strong and do this for my health. Here is the meal plan i have created to hopefully help me gain some weight:

Breakfast -8am
-2 slices wheat toast with 2T peanut butter
-medium apple
-80z juice

Snack-10am
-Ensure Plus Shake

Lunch 12-1pm
-turkey/cheese (2slices) sandwich on wheat with lettuce, tomato, mustard
-carrot sticks with hummus or ranch dip
-80z juice

Snack 3-4pm
-Ensure Plus
-piece of fruit

Dinner 5-6pm
-Veggie burger on bun with ketchup
-side salad (veggies, cheese, nuts, dressing)
-8oz milk

Snack 8-9pm
-granola bar
-8oz milk

This meal plan i’ve made contains a little more than 2500 calories. (right now i am eating an average of 1600 a day). Will this plan help me gain weight HEALTHILY? Any suggestions?

Thank you

Okay, so don’t tell me that its bad for me, and that its going to give me bacteria or anything, but I love the taste of raw hamburger. I’m considering going on a raw food diet. I’ve looked around Google and found that nuts, veggies and fruits, raw meat are part of the diet. Is it a better diet for someone who doesn’t exercise that much? Can someone exactly tell me what is in a raw food diet and what its supposed to do/is for?

I got so mad the other day.. I’ll give a little background. My niece just turned a year old about a month ago. She’s a doll but is a major chunk! A big problem is my step dad. She would get little tastes of things now and then.. but wasn’t really given junk food. My sister had her on baby food and she was doing great. My step dad loves to give her junk food. My sister was feeding my niece a jar of green beans and she was doing great.. Then my step dad came up and started feeding her pieces of pepperoni pizza.. This was when she was about 8 months or so I’d say.. And he would always share his chocolate pudding, cake, ice cream, everything with her. I think he thinks its cute that she’s super chunky. Drives me nuts and my sister doesn’t know how to tell him no..

Anyway.. My son is 3 months old.. Obviously only on formula at this point. His doctor told me that somewhere between 4 and 5 months I can start trying cereal and then around 6 months start trying baby foods.. Well I was over at my mom’s and my step dad was eating sour cream and onion chips and tried putting a chip in my son’s mouth to let him taste the seasonings. I told him no and pushed his hand away.. Then he tried it again and I broke the chip out of his hand and threw it back at him. I’m not allowing that to happen with my baby boy. I don’t want him on junk food like that like my niece was.. She never wanted her baby food after having all of that stuff. I told him that it won’t be happening with my son and I know he didn’t take me seriously.

I was just wondering if anybody has had this happen and how they handle it? I just don’t understand why some people can’t just get it!

I’ve been doing tons of research for about a year now on the raw food movement. I’ve tried going raw before, but no success. I want to try a different approach, one that very few raw food eaters try. I’m going to start off just eating individual fruits, veggies, and nuts to get my palette used to those foods. besides eating what i really enjoy, what are the living foods i need to eat in order to get my required daily nutrition?
omg….i know what the raw diet consists of, thats not my question. my question is, which individual friends, veggies, etc will suffice for getting my daily needed nutrition?

Hello, I have a 3 yo American Bulldog and have gone through tons of tests in the last month due to her diarrhea, everything negative. She has been on Hills i/d for the last month and she feels great although her stools are still pretty soft (even on a good day!) I am debating the raw diet and need all RELEVANT info on the raw diet. Seems to me though that once you "go raw" that you cannot go back, and I do need to be able to board her and have her eat dry food. Is there a good commercial/rx brand that is similar to raw (as lame as that sounds) or is i/d good enough.

Also, could it be anxiety? This dog is happy and healthy (always gets complements what a "happy" or "good" dog she is, she sleeps in our bed every night, HOWEVER she does run to the door when she hears neighbors (we are in a condo) and seems to be overly concerned sometimes with the activity of the neighbors, which I thought was normal dog behavior. There is no barking problem, if anything she makes one big "woof" and that is it.

THANKS so much in advance, I am driving myself nuts with this and have spent about 800 bucks on the vet!!

Help! I want to eat a more natural, unprocessed diet primarily of veggies and fruit. Eggs and seafood are okay too as are nuts, but I don’t want to be soaking nuts or sprouting seeds. I want to get my calcium from vegetable sources rather than dairy and I want to cook my food as well rather than blend and eat everything raw. I need some recipes and support for this lifestyle but I don’t know where I fit in. The raw recipes don’t do it and the macrobiotic ones include soy, which I don’t want to eat either. Anyone know what I’m looking for?

What are some balanced diet of raw food?

I’m guessing nuts, dandelions, bean sprouts, lettuce, spinach, carrots, celery, tomatoes, bananas, apples, oranges?
