My dog loves cooked food. She hates dry food, although I buy her a good brand.
Some people believe that dry food is the best solution, because it is formulated to have the nutrients a dog needs.
Some other people believe that fresh high quality ingredients that we’d eat ourselves is the healthiest solution.
I give both opinions some basis. So I want to combine them, by cooking some food and adding some kibble in it, or giving her some cooked meals and some kibble when I don’t have time or ingredients to cook for her.
However, I want to make sure she gets the nutrients necessary in her cooked diet. What would you suggest? I cooked her chicken+chicken livers+rice today. With a few peas in it too. One day I had added pasta instead of rice.
How much rice or pasta is allowed so that she doesn’t have diabetes problem? How much and what type of veg should I add?
NOTE: 1. I know what foods are poisonous and must not be given, so don’t tell me.
2. I also know some people suggest raw food and bones, but I won’t do this so don’t tell me to do that.

Purchase Fat Burning Diet

Hey, I’m 15 and I’m a year round runner for my high school and I’m strong in this sport and am very competitive. I’ve just recently heard of the raw food diet and how it can help an athlete’s strength and endurance, as well as help lose excess fat. Tonight I’ve spent a long time researching this diet and figuring out how it may effect me, but want more of a direct response. I don’t eat unhealthily and completely stay away from fast food, so I’m not doing this to lose any weight, but to specifically increase my performance level (strength, endurance). I would like to know the following :
1) Would beginning the diet decrease my performance level the first few days, as I’m detoxing?
2) Are there any specific health risks, mentally or physically? [I'm going to NOT specifically eat only raw foods, for I am a teen and don't really have the money to spend on super foods, organic, etc. I will eat pasta and cooked foods but very scarcely. For example, to sustain energy needed for running I will make a plate of pasta and top it off with many raw veggies and nuts. Also, I can make salads and top it off with nuts, to sustain my protein intake.]
3) Should I stay away from milk, eggs and cheese?
4) Are there any supplements I should be taking, such as calcium, etc.?
5) Why must raw fruits be eaten in moderation? [I want to become serious about this diet and try it out for at least a week, for I've researched this and have seen people with great results, and I heard it can increase my strength and endurance, for I am competitive.] But right now I’ve realized this isn’t REALLY a raw food diet, for I won’t only be eating raw foods, but I will try to stay away from cooked foods except for pasta. Are there any tips or affordable recipes I can use, such as smoothies or juices. And I won’t be using more than 117 degrees F of heat on my food, for I heard that the food can quickly lose nutritional value. So can anyone tell me about their experience if they’ve gone through this, and whether my ideas for the diet are correct? I’d really appreciate it! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! ♥

I am eighteen years old and am approaching the 200 pound mark. Blah!
I am fully committed to losing 80-90 pounds, and need some help!!!
See, my family is filled with big people. We cook lots of rice and grew up used to eating large portions of food. I know I can change this, but living this way for my whole life has blurred me to what foods are healthy and what not.

I know that cake, cookies, sugary drinks, and pasta are out. I am okay with that.

So then, what should I eat? As far as meals for breakfast lunch and dinner? Am I allowed to have any low calorie snacks in between?
Let me know of some foods/meals that helped you lose weight!

[And I am following this diet plan with excersise as well]

And, what is everyone’s opinion on protein shakes? And when is best to drink them?

Every sunday I like to make the week’s meals so my husband can heat up lunch for the kids and there is always dinner ready and I can be with my kids when I get off.

here’s some of what I make now

Bow tie pasta with spaghetti sauce , hamburger and cheese

Egg noodles with cream of mushroom soup and boiled chicken

Lasagna

fruit salad mixed with vanilla pudding powder

Chicken and rice with broccoli

Rice with kielbasa and cheese

Beef & Veggie Stew

I need some new ideas, I particularly like meals where we can portion it as we need. Sometimes we all eat something different, I like for us to have options.

Thanks for sharing your ideas.

it is known that "all raw-food" diets change eye color gradually over a few months.
but i dont think i can eat all raw food.
especially since im only a teen still living at home, its not exactly easy to make your parents change what they buy and cook [or not cook for that matter!]. and i just dont think i would be able to do it… i love cooked food! like chicken and pasta.. i could never become a vegetarian [which is basically what this diet is..] so how many raw things would i have to eat along with my meals [normal cooked ones like usual] in order for this eye color change to take affect?

i only want those who know about this to answer. i dont want to bother reading those who say "its impossible to change your eyecolor" because it isnt..

please can someone give me the answer i am looking for?
i would love to have more information on this!!
it is very interesting.
thank you all!!!!! :]
it actually does change eye color.

sorry to disappoint you, but it has worked on many.

An example of what she eats during the day is:
Breakfast: 1/4c cereal(mixed usually with water somtimes formula) and 1/4 c. fruit. Lunch: 1/4c. pasta, 1/4c. meat/protien, 1/4 c. veggie. Mid afternoon snack 1/4c dairy and 1/4c fruit. Dinner 1/4c meat, 1/4c veggie, 1/4c. dairy. In addition she is getting usually between 4 to 5 6oz bottles a day. I only feed her when she is hungry and she doesn’t always eat everything that I give her some of it lands on the floor of course. I just want to make sure I am giving her enough of each food group. This is more for me to practice giving her a healthy meal plan because my husband and I don’t eat all that healthy although we are working on it. I know that really she gets all the nutrients she needs from the formula. Thank you

I eat no more than 1200 calories and do 100 reps each of inverse crunches, leg lifts, and "jack knives" a day. about 3 days a week, i swim laps for about 20 minutes. a daily meal plan for me is:

breakfast- serving size of special k with a splash (literally, i dont like a lot of milk in my cereal) of 2% milk and a peach or apple.

lunch- light n’ fit yogurt with about 1 tbsp of grape nuts mixed in and another piece of fruit.

dinner- depends on what my parents are making haha but usually pasta or chicken with some sort of veggie…it ends up being between 300-500 calories, no more or less. sorry thats vague.

i only drink water and don’t really snack at all but if i do it fruit, pretzels, rice cakes, etc.

oh and im 16, 5′ 3". i started almost a month ago and i’ve gone from 147 to 140 lbs. my goal is to be 130.

i’m sorry if this is too much of a mouthful haha.

The beginning of May I started my life change! I’ve started working out and eating better! As of now i’ve lost 5 pounds. Which i’m happy about. I want to know how i’m doing and if you think i should add or subtract anything.

My meal plan:
Breakfast- Two egg white scrambled, on a whole wheat english muffin. 4 fresh strawberries. 8 oz skim milk.

Lunch- One Campbell Healthy Select light soup, either italian veg or pasta veg. One whole can is about 100 cal.

Dinner- Usually a large salad with light italian dressing. Lean meat, usually chicken (not a fish fan) or a small cut of beef. And a steamed veggie with lemon.

I drink more than enough water during the course of the day. Probably 10- 8oz glasses.

Exercise:
I recently bought Wii Ea Active and i’m doing the 30 day challenge. So i do that as i’m supposed to. I also workout at the gym 4-5 times a week. Usually starting with a 10 minute warm up walk on the treadmill. Then 25 minutes on elliptical level 5. Usually at the gym i burn up to 350 calories. I cant run due to shin splints, or else i would add that.

Anyways, thats my routine! Let me know what you think and how well you think i’ll do!! Thanks!!
Soup total sodium is around 900.

Ok here’s my plan : 5:30am eat cheesy white (no yolk) scrambled eggs w/ whole wheat bread and milk. Around 12:00pm eat salad w/ Italian dressing. water with an apple or something. Then 5:00pm eat either baked fish or chicken. or whole wheat noodles pasta.V8 juice and brown rice. some veggie or broccoli w/ cheese on the side. Also, by drinking water between meals or during lunch, id drink a gallon of water everyday. and not eat after 6:00pm.

is that a good meal plan? here’s my workout scheduled : every day workout by jump rope, hiking, walking, hula hoop, or dancing for an hour or more. plus volleyball at school

is that a good workout plan. im planning to do all of this for around a whole school year. and could you determine how much weight i would lose mabey. thanks so much! -me

In about two week I, along with my mum will start a raw food diet eg no meat, bread, pasta etc..

I’m 15 and my family HAS done it before, I was just much younger the last time…

But if I go to the gym for half and hour x 6 days a week, will I lose weight quickly? Like just the raw food diet alone?

Thanks, any tips etc?
If I’m 5’3 and 135lbs, how quickly do you think I can lose 20lbs? 2 months? If I really try?

My son (almost 2) seems to be going on a food strike. He has NEVER been a picky eater and usually eats anything I give him. He especially loves chicken breast and green beans.

All of a sudden over the last few weeks he’s become SUPER picky and only wants to eat carbs…pancakes or waffles fro breakfast, pasta for dinner, cheeze-it’s, rice cakes, animal crakers, grahm crackers…anything carbs. I can still get him to eat fruit, yogurt and cheese, but he won’t eat his normal chicken or any veggies.

Any tips? Any ideas how i can get him to eat "regular" foods again? I give him a multi-vitamin everyday, and have started to give him V-Fusion to help get him a LITTLE veggies…

HELP!!?!!
He eats potatoes…they are a carb and NOT considered a veggie.

I know this question is boring but i really REALLY need some new ideas. What healthy food do you feed your toddler? My son eats the same thing all the time. He likes pasta with tomatoes, chicken (rarely), fish sticks, ravioli, vegetable pizza, and grilled cheese. His two favorite veggies are green beans and carrots, but he eats those every single day. And of course he will eat any fruit you put in front of his face. He also likes cheddar cheese sticks. He has a pretty good variety for breakfast so I’m not really worried about that.

I just feel like i am feeding him the same thing all the time. I just need new healthy ideas that a toddler would like. He doesn’t really like meat, which is fine with me, i just wish i could find something to replace the main part of his meal. Help me ladies!!…or gentlemen if there are any Mr. Moms reading this…

I’m 17. I’m 5’10 and 150 lbs.
I’m trying to lose some weight, but I never expected it to be this hard! I’ve only been on my diet for two days, but I’m exausted, feel terrible, and I’m constantly on the verge of tears.

Old diet:
Living off of fast food, enormous bars of chocolate, a bag of chips a day, Panda Express Chinese fast food….

New Diet:
Whatever I want to eat, but only non-processed food, like brown rice/pasta, fruits, veggies, fish, lean chicken, whole wheat bread. I eat until I’m full, with healthy snacks in between. One normal-sized chocolate bar a day.

Even though I’m creative with my diet, and I allow a treat a day, I feel like I’m dying. I constantly want to TASTE grease, intense flavor, the oily CRUNCH of Orange Chicken, or eat more chocolate and the salty smoothness of french fries.

And I’m only on my second day. I literally feel SICK.

How do people survive this? People make it sound so easy. Is there opium in junk food or something?
I pay careful attention to get enough fiber and protein, but I’m still not truly satisfied. The good news, is that I lose weight VERY easily, and gain it slowly. I went on this "health kick" for a week once, and lost eight pounds. After eating crappy again, it took a month to gain it back.

I find that I’ll make it thru the game just fine, but afterwards I feel so tired that I can’t do much with the rest of my day. What is good to eat before a game to keep your energy for the rest of the day? Is it true pasta is good?

Is it unhealthy to drink Lipton Green Tea w/ citrus? I really like the taste and all, but I heard that it’s unhealthy for you? Also, are foods like bread and pasta bad because of carbohydrates? Why are carbs so bad? I always thought bread was super healthy but nowadays people are avoiding bread and pasta. Why? :(

I feed my 5-year-old bird the Avian Science Super: Lovebird/Conure food. He also eats with me [pasta, well-cooked meat in small amounts, etc] and has a good amount of fruits. Of course I don’t feed him chocolate or avocados since we all know that’s bad, and will not give him onions because I heard they are poisonous for animals. So until I get that clarified, he won’t be having any.

I would just like some feeding suggestions so I know how to be a better bird owner, and which fruits are better for him than the other and if there are any better brands of bird feed out there. Right now he’s eating a banana

If this helps, this is the food I feed him + the ingredients: http://www.theperchstore.net/avscsuloco4l.html

Thank you!

So I’m living with my aunt and uncle and there kids…I love it but I’m also trying to lean down. I’m 148lbs and I would like to lose 18-20lbs in the next 3-4 months. The problem is that I pay them 300 dollars a month for food, technically rent is free. So it’s only board I’m paying. However it seems the food we buy (I go shopping with her) isn’t really conducive to weight loss. I have a hard time eat well fine there isn’t very much healthy selection. I spent a 3 days eating bran flakes and apples and yogurt for breakfast and lunch because there was anything else healthy and then at dinner I would cave because there wasn’t any salad or anything lean to eat, I’ll end up eating pasta or potatoes or bread or anything!!!

I can’t lose weight like this! I need to keep strong through out the day but I don’t know how to tell my aunt I’m not happy with the food options at dinner! I’m all to happy eating it at the time but I regret it the next morning!
Oh I should say that I feel bad asking for things in the supermarket, I feel like I’m wasting money or something…

I live with my aunt and I’m trying to diet and even though when the 1st of the month comes to buy groceries I buy healthy foods and eat them. I still get tempted to eat unhealthy foods like fried foods, white pasta, white rice, fast foods, and fatty meats like pork especially sausage. Please help me I want a slimmer body and I don’t want to eat the wrong things.
