First off im 5’8 and weigh 149 my daily routine is to ride on an exercise bike for 30min then do weights for 20min followed by 7min of sit ups. Before my workout i drink a protien shake ( non fat milk mixed with protein powder) then after through out the rest of the day i limit myself to one full meal a day usually dinner, no lunch just carrot sticks or any other veggie and a granola bar.

Som I’m fat and ive been lifting alot of weights for football. The football coach wants everyone to gain weight but i kinda wanna lose some fat. Our coach says eat lots of carbs after i workout and with lots of protein so that my body doesnt just use the protien as energy.
Is this true? does my body use up the Protein that i eat for energy or the stored body fat that i have for energy if i dont eat any carbs?
Are there any negative side effects from whey protien? I am starting a raw food diet and concerned about my son not having enough protien.
