So, I’ve been hearing about a couple people on this "Raw food diet" thing. And I’m a pretty unhealthy eater. I eat junk. And meat. I want to be a vegetarian raw-foodist. I know it’s a drastic change, but I’m 100% committed to making this work. Please tell me the basic things of what to eat and what not to eat. And drinks. I need to know what I can and can’t drink. Soda? Milk? etc.

Hi, vegans and vegetarians! I assume that this is the best forum to post my question.

I’ve researched raw-foodism, and I am sold! I’m eager to gain all of the health benefits from this diet. But there are so many cooked foods and non-vegetarian foods (sorry) that I can’t imagine living without. How do you cope with this? Should i just go 75% raw and allow myself to eat those prized foods occasionally? Will my health improve even as a 75% raw foodist, or do I need to go all the way?

I usually take a microwave meal, like a Smart One or Lean Cuisine. I’m going on a raw food diet, so what fruits and vegetables should I take? Also, how can I keep them cold?
hahaha after that comment about 8-9 bananas, "bananas are 200 calories, btw"
I’m already a vegetarian! I wouldn’t just jump from carnivore to raw foodist. I’m not an idiot.

i’m already vegetarian (almost 2 years now).
i used to be vegan and i’ve realized that ever since i stopped being vegan and started eating a lot of junk food, my immune system has weakened. is it such a bad idea to not eat dairy at all and live on a predominately raw foods diet? (i know i could never be 100% raw foodist)

hi im currently vegan, im thinking about maybe trying raw foodism over the summer,
to start out could you tell me what exactly a raw foodist is, does it mean you can’t eat any cooked food, or you can only cook food to a certain temp. could you give me the general information about a raw foodist. what you often eat, an average meal for you, and other helpful info. thanks much appreciated.
and could you tell me your reasons behind going raw, im trying it out of curiosity, but i’d like to know why you became one.

Raw foodist ‘David Wolfe’ says in one of his books that he once awoke to find a wild bird playing about him with no fear. There are also noted instances when nature bows down to help and aid one who lives a pure and natural life.

I was wanting to know if people have encountered such strange yet natural experiences?

If so do you have any advice???
I am already a vegetarian. I do not consume alot of dairy products but I do eat eggs occasionally for protein.
If you are a raw-foodist how do you get enough protein and how do you feel about eating this way?

I’m trying to become a raw foodist, but every time I eat raw for a couple days, my body starts to detoxify and I get headaches and feel like throwing up! I really want to become at least 70% raw, but don’t want to always feel sick! Should I just tough it out?

I am just starting out and hope to get answers from anyone who is actually a raw foodist. I believe dried beans are extremely cheap and I would really appreciate it if you shared a few recipes with me whether with beans or not..as long as they are cheap! I will go shopping tomorrow so what should I put on my shopping list??
I don’t have a dehydrator or a juicer- all I have is a blender and a food processor. I was wondering anyway if I could use my oven (it’s electric) to dehydrate stuff. I am also wondering why some recipes call for ‘sprouted’ beans etc. and how do I sprout beans?

Alright, I am a frustrated raw foodist. Right now I am about 75%, but I have been wondering about the B Vitamin issue..

In my research it has come up that David Wolfe mentions in an interview that he eats ants for B Vitamins, but this interview seems to have happened in between the last edition of The Sunfood Diet Success System, and the new edition.. I have now read both versions.. Neither say ANYTHING about it that I have noticed..
I’d ask on the raw food forum, but it has come up before, and turns into a huge argument between the raw dairy people and the vegans.. To me, raw dairy is not an option.. I’m vegan, and have been for a long time. Right now I’m just taking the supplements.. Try to be respectful of other beliefs in your answer, but I’m trying to figure out if the supplements are necessary.. or is there a better source.

Poll: would you ever become a raw foodist?

Where you only eat raw and natural foods? Nothing cooked or processed?

State YES OR NO and feel free to explain your thoughts! :)

someone that just don't eat cooked foods. but is okay with eating animal products as long as they are not cooked; like sushi. I'm not talking about raw vegans, which I know about, I'm talking about raw foodist.

Since raw foodist are getting more nutrition by eating food the natural way does their hair grow faster and is it thicker and more healthier ? (assuming they don't stick everyday chemicals in their hair)
