A few weeks ago I asked about what to feed my cat. I came across an answer leading me to http://www.catinfo.org/ . Skeptic about it I still read and have gradually changed my cats diet. I was feeding them dry food and cheap canned food. I thought that if I saw a sale at the pet store it would be ok…a lot less expensive i thought.
Anyways, Its been two weeks since I have not fed any dry food(I still serve them a bit on a bowl just in case they don’t like their new diet but they don’t even touch it any more).
Since day one they liked raw chicken. I served them a bit at a time along with canned food. I have read the labels on every can at the store and got the best I can afford guiding myself with catinfo.org and a few people that advised me on what to look for.
I am not kidding. Their fur is shiny and very silky. Their poop is not smelly any more, or at least not as much and they seem very very energetic.
Finally, for my question: Im ready to change to an all raw meat diet and will finally try the recipe given on catinfo.org. The question is: How much should I feed my cats(how many oz a day). They are both around 9lbs and are a year old now.
I am very proud of myself for finding this new diet. I can tell by how they act with me and how happy they look playing with each other.

He is just over 3 months old. and a very picky eater.

So i came up with this recipe that he loves so i made a load of it and stored it for daily feeding.

this is whats in it.

Heat a pot, throw in a LITTLE water, ground beef, chicken liver, beef cubes, pork cubes, chicken heart, cooked rice, soft mashed carrots. then after it is all BROWNED not cooked, i empty a tin of pedigree ( a gravy one ) mix it all around put it in a large bowl mix in some puppy kibble.
not that i dont let the meat get cooked just browned still pink in the middle.

i let it cool and feed it to him he loves it, i always serve it with a bowl of milk for calcium since its a basically raw meat diet and i give him a meaty bone almost every day ( not cooked )

I want him to be huge, u think what im feedin him will make him sick?

Real answers please, and dont give me shit about raw feeding everyone does it, he dont like dog food.
@pamela

look at your dog.. a poodle.. now look at mine, a Rottweiler. one of the baddest boys of the breeds * not training him to be bad*
Why wouldnt i feed him raw meat? do you think that dogs got a can of food and opened it up them self and ate it b4 we made them pets?
they are animals, wild dogs kill and eat other animals alive, rotties are like wolfs, have a pack kill their prey eat and burry the left overs for later. RAW IS WHAT GOD AND NATURE INTENDED! im sure the wolfs had a factory and put their food in cans back in the day.
@ lorain, what i said that i meant it as to show that it is not a toy dog when it comes to breeds, its a heavy big dog. its what i ment as bad boys,

I’d like to start making my own food to feed to my dog. Does anyone have and tips or recipes? suggestions? Thanks. Also I am thinking about starting my pup on a raw meat diet. I have heard it builds them well. What do you think about raw meat dieting? Has anyone tryed it, how’d it go? Thanks!

I recently got what I believe is a Shih-Po or Shih-Su mutt. He is only a year old and the Previous owners had him a a raw meat diet. I have never put my dogs on a raw meat diet, and I really don’t have the funds for that. How would one go about switching from a raw meat diet to good kibble?
Thank you for the great answers so far.
