Next month my sister and i are going to go on a "cleansing diet" We won’t eat anything processed or refined, basically anything man-made. Basically for the month my sister and i will be jogging first thing every morning, doing a lot of detox things i have in my detox book, drinking lots of water and twice a week going raw vegan. I already don’t eat eggs, dairy and any meat but seafood (I don’t live near the ocean so i eat it quite rarely) so i am already very familiar with vegan cooking and recipes but am having some trouble finding raw food options. i live in China so i am unable to get raw nuts or seeds (there are no health food stores and if there are i have no idea how to find them). I also am not a huge fan of raw vegetables but i am hoping this month will help me get used to them. I also do not have a dehydrator or a spiralizer, only a blender. I really need some simple recipes that are not too extreme so i can start getting more used to raw foods. Thank you for any recipes!
Also i cannot get avocado here.
Oh and berries are too expensive.

Hello,
I have recently started trying to eat a mostly raw diet, and while I have been successful at eliminating most cooked foods from my menu, I have run into some problems. Most significantly, I have been experiencing mild to severe nausea following some 100% raw (or close to) days, and even some meals. For example, last week I made a raw ‘sunflower pate’ and ate it between two romaine leaves- it tasted great and I felt alright for about an hour after eating, but then I got a terrible headache and very nauseated. Around 4pm, I threw up, and was dry-heaving the rest of that day. The next day I still felt awful, and had trouble keeping anything down. The next day I felt fine… but still everything I ate seemed to not sit well with me.
I have a few guesses as to what went wrong with the sunflower dish, but nothing too conclusive. The seeds had to be soaked before they were used in the recipe; is it possible that they were rancid, or moldy? Was it a problem with food-combining? (recipe also included a lot of garlic/onion and pungent items, maybe it was just too much for my digestive system)? Any ideas or resources would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hey Jen- Thanks for the info. I don’t understand what you mean by ‘made private’- I just started using answers and made some preferance changes- not real sure how it all works. Anyway… yeah I have been an outdoorsy person most of my life; I do fish, but my shooting is trap and skeet, which are clay targets. I’m interested in natural health and just looking for new ways to hopefully improve mine. Thanks again for your input!
I have a hamster whose name is pudge. You can guess why. I fed him every night, in medium amounts. When I clean his cage, food galore on the bottom. Now I feed him a lot in his dish every other day. I feed him orange slices sometimes. Other than that…. dry food! He is still living up to his name. He has a wheel and uses it mainly to sleep under. I put him in his ball, but he gets tired after 10 minutes or so. (Barely walking, staying still.) Help?!
Thank You!!!

The "Dry Food" I am feeding Pudge is seeds. The brand is Nutraphase Gold.
My green singing male Finch ONLY eats the small spherical dark-colored rape seeds and will not, ever, ever eat millet in the seed blend, or canary grass seed, or oat groats or…anything else!
Well, he does eat corn but rape seeds and corn are the only things he eats and I am frustrated since I care for his health and I am afraid he is not getting proper nutrition.
What can I do to get him to eat other foods without me investing hours into "training" him with a clicker or what not?
Thank you!!
I read somewhere that if you only feed parakeets seeds (like the store bought bird foods) that they only like for about 5 years due to malnourishment…rather than feeding them fresh fruits and vegetables which allows them to live their life to the fullest. Just wondering if this was true of not because ive been trying to convince my parents to let me get a parakeet but they said they don’t want to deal with it once i go to college in 3 years.
I’m starting a raw food diet…
alll i have raw is
Bananas
Blueberries
green bell peppers
tomatoes
sliced cucumbers
lettuce
I all read tried smoothie and salad
thanks for the help
<3333
i cant have bread

that why its called raw this is what i can have:
Fresh fruits and vegetables
Nuts
Seeds
Beans
Grains
Legumes
Dried fruit
Seaweed
Unprocessed organic or natural foods
Freshly juiced fruit and vegetables
Purified water
Young coconut milk
At least 75% of food consumed should not be heated over 116 degrees F.
I’m going on a raw food diet and my mom went to the store and bought some questionable foods…
-Multigrain Flax Crackers
-Roasted sunflower seeds
-Granola (it says organic cereal)
And are things that say "organic" considered appropriate for a raw food diet?
thanks!
I had bean for breakfast this morning, what else helps give me energy, some kind of seeds etc.
what are some natural non meat foods to suppliment me with the nutrients i were to get from meat like beef and pork?
i know they are super foods, but im worried about the iron content. isnt it bad for males to have high iron in their blood. im vegan so i get my iron from nuts, seeds, beans, sea weeds ect.
is their a test i can do just for iron and what are healthy levels for males??
thanks:)
I am very pregnant. I am looking to gain some arm muscle from the seven months I’ve been passed out on the couch. I also want more energy, lately I’ve been eating sunflower seeds like CRAZY. I’m not sure what to eat for energy..
I want to try eating a raw diet but I’m just worried about my hunger. If I eat fruit, vegetables, and nuts/seeds I’m sure I’m going to get bad hunger pangs. I usually eat lots of wheat carbs and a little bit of meat every day so the cravings are sure to come. My question is what can I do to avoid the hunger? Is it normal to feel sick to my stomach and dizzy while in the transition period?
apparently on live fods you dont have to contribute enzymes from your body because live food has its own enzymes to start and end the digestive process. it does get kinda boring though. like all i can ever seem to eat on a live food diet is bananas and apples (i hate avocados), i also have nuts (which i find extremely boring and mundane to eat, and seeds (boringggggg)
you need to be a special kinda person to sustain a live food diet for months lol.
That is living non-animal foods like seeds, sprouts, and freshly harvested plants? What is this sort of diet called?
It’s not vegan– not all vegan foods are living– like vegan bread, for example.
Just veggies and fruits and seeds?
by eating just raw food, do you get weaker? are sunflowers seeds ok?? what sort of drinks are ok to drink while on this diet?
My boyfriend and I were discussing the raw food diet (which he is on and I am not), he says there are so many benefits and hardly any side effects. I decided to look that up online, while I found thousands of sites saying what a wonderful diet this was, I did not find anything about side effects or people that should or should not be on it. In fact I found nothing negative at all!!! This is really hard for me to believe, so if you have been on this diet and had something negative, could you tell me your experience so I don’t feel like I’m going crazy! Nothing works 100% of the time, right?
The diet I’m talking about is only fruits, veggies, and nuts or seeds. No meat or diary and no cooking anything.
