I’ve been a vegan for a while now, but I’d like to make raw foods more central to my diet. I try to eat all my snacks and one meal or so a day raw (or high raw; I’m not especially strict), and so far I feel great!

The problem is: I’m getting a bit sick of the same old smoothies, salads, and homemade Larabars though and would like to follow some new raw food blogs to get inspiration.

I already follow ChoosingRaw.com and Rawmazing.com.

I don’t own a juicer or dehydrator as of right now, so the simpler recipes the better!

Any suggestions?

And no hate; if you don’t agree with Veganism or raw foodism than don’t comment, please.

Purchase Fat Burning Diet

I don’t like cooking or doing dishes much. For the last six months, I am on a mostly-fruit diet. I eat fruits for breakfast, and snacks. I have a big smoothie of fruits for lunch. But at night time I crave cooked food, and have regular food. Can anyone give me tips on some simple raw vegan recipes for night time, that doesn’t require elaborate recipes.

Any good salad or wraps thats easy to make and filling (and tasty)? Also I am considering buying a juice extractor, they seem pretty expensive, but am spending well over 0 at jamba juice every month, so may be a worthy investment? any thoughts on that?

Thanks for all answers in advance!
Thanks for all the great answers and information guys…keep them coming!

I’m trying to lose weight. I want to know what I should have a home. I live with my parents who by the food. Sometimes it’s not healthy or the get take out(Popeyes, Chinese, Tex Mex). I was wondering what type of things I should have to substitute on those nights. Also, what type of snacks are good to bring with me when I am on the go or even at home.

So, I just started this diet about 3 days ago.

Basically you eat a ton of live things…(fruits, vegees, unprocessed foods- or close to it)

Basically, what I eat… 1/2 serving of whole wheat oat meal, cherries, and half a serving of snap peas for breakfast. For lunch, I have a small spinach salad with light balsamic vinigrette dressing and other vegees mixed in. For dinner, I have steamed spinach and a few oz’s of raw tuna. For snacks— geez — Banana, snap peas, negtarine, egg whites, raw spinach, and an apple. ————- That’s around 600 calories.

It’s sooo much food. The point is to basically stuff yourself with live foods… To lower your PH level… My friend followed this diet, and actually lost 10 lbs in like 15 days.

Well, I was just seeing what everyone else though of this diet… and to see who else has all tried it.

I haven’t lost any weight yet. But you are supposed to do this lil diet for about 2 weeks, stop for 3-4 days and go again..

I’m 17, nearing 18. Over the past week, I’ve started being really really hungry for no reason, even only a few hours after I just ate last. I eat regularly, including breakfast every morning, three meals and two snacks a day, but I’m still very hungry. My food is super-healthy (plenty of greens, many colored veggies, lean protein/tofu, whole grains, milk, etc). Could it be possible that I’m having a late growth spurt? What are some reasons for sudden hunger like this?

I’m always so hungry. I’ll eat something and still have to eat something else cause i wont be full. Or even if I’m not hungry I eat too much-how can i stop eating?!
I am also looking for more energy.
I’m not looking to lose a lot of weight but I want to stay at the healthy weight I am now and not gain weight which I kinda seem like im doing…
anyways what kinds of food should i eat? I love sweets but I know thats not very healthy so any advice?
And I wanted more energy because I’m taking a summer P.E. course and we’re kayaking this whole week and for the next weeks we’ll also be doing windsurfing and other sports.
So any advice on a good eating plan (not diets!)
like i said im not looking to lose weight i just want to know good foods and snacks to eat but that are healthy for you

my daughter is 9 months old and i just changed her to a 3 meal plan… she seems to take to it just fine… i just wanted to know from others what your 3 meal plans look like… i really like the 3 meal plan and dont want to go back to 4 meals… my daughter gets 14-16 oz of formula a day and she eats alot of solids… i know that doesnt seem like much formula but keep in mind my daughter was 10lbs at birth she is 23ish pounds now and in the 100 percentile for height and 95 for weight she is bigger than most 12 month olds… and she will keep eating even when she is full…

here is what she is currently eating…

7am- breakfast- cereal (made with formula) and 6oz in a sippy cup
NAP
10am- snack- sippy cup of juice and pudding or cherrios
1pm- lunch- 1 jar stage 3 veggie and 1/2 jar stage 3 fruit and 4-5 oz in a sippy cup
NAP
4pm- snack- sippy cup of juice and pudding/jello/or finger snack foods…
7pm- dinner- 1 stage 3 veggie and table food or 1/2 stage 3 fruit and a 4-5oz sippy cup of formula
7:30pm BEDTIME…

if she has a hard time sleeping (usually only when teething) we will give a few ounces of formula before bed…
ok good advice… my doctor is the one who said she will need alot less formula but i thought i would ask here too since doctor arent always right…

i will try giving her more formula since it seems to be what most people are telling me…

just an FYI as far as the comment on juice this time of year her juice is mostly water anyways becasue i live in 95+ degree weather… she gets ice water alot too… and pudding/jello is only a once in a while snack as she usually eats cherrios… but my daughter is not fat if that is the impression i gave you… she is skinny and really really tall…
24oz a day… we will try it out… yeah my doctor said 16- 20 was good… which i thought was a bit low… thanks for all the help ladies…

the snacks i give her pudding jello are all sugar free… i know that helps a little but im not worried about it cause its not very often… like i said its a once in a while thing… and i give her water all the time sometimes she drinks it sometimes she doesnt esp if i am going to be out at the park or somthing then she will get just plain ice water because its so hot here…

So I heard about the raw diet several years ago, at first I thought the guy who told me about it was crazy, but the idea never left my mind… after years of feeling miserable and several months of considering it, going raw for life seems to be the answer to a lot of difficulties I have.
Anyway, I’m very excited to start, however I don’t exactly know HOW. Cutting out foods I normally eat and going straight to raw foods would probably have my body go into shock, I would imagine…
Prior to my decision, I’ve already made healthier choices this past year, no soda or fast food (once a month, if that), and I hardly ever eat meat (again with maybe once or twice a month).
So I can’t imagine it would be too difficult, but should I start with raw nuts or other snacks at first or specific meals?
I’ve read most of ‘Raw Food Life Force Energy’, which is great, but looking for more personal experiences… thanks!!

hes about 20 pounds and hes 8 or 9 years old, he is VERY big when i look at him. my mom feeds him 1/4 a can of wet food twice a day and she will also feed him table scraps and snacks occasionally. him and our other cat have a bowl of dry food that is open for them to eat whenever they want. unfortunately i think he overeats while the other cat watches her figure.

i want him to be slim and healthy and live very long because we love him so much, but if he doesnt get his wet food in the morning and at night he goes on a rampage. we cannot sleep in the morning until he is fed. if nobody wakes up to feed him, he will meow, scratch on the wall, purr very loudly and even knock things off the tables and counter tops. he even knows how to turn the light switch on and has even turned the radio on just to wake me up. but i dont think he should be eating wet food every day. how can i get him off of the wet food diet without all the drama?

So for my New Year’s Resolution, I’ve decided to lose some weight, about 40 pounds or so. I’m thirteen, 5’3", and I weigh around 164. I don’t look quite as heavy as one would imagine, my body is closer to that a 17-18 year old, as I hit puberty around four years ago. I tend to gain weight in the hips-thigh area.

So I was wondering, what should I be eating? I don’t want to be on some ‘diet plan’, but what are some low fat, low cal, snacks and meals? And I probably prefer the taste of actually healthy foods over the so called ‘light’ junk foods. I’ve been eating stuff like fruits, salads, soups, fish, sandwiches, etc. and taking in about 500-800 calories a day. How many I should I be consuming?

And exercise, what type would be good for me? I’ve been just trying to go on walks, or do some real ‘exercising’ for about thirty minutes a day to start with. I know it would probably be better to go do something outside, but I live in south Georgia, and the weather is horrible, even in January.

Oh, and I feel the need to mention, I’m home-schooled, so I can’t really do any form of sport or anything at a school.
Oh, and also, I can’t really go out and do anything like that because the only thing within an hour of where I live is a Wal-Mart. Perhaps I should run around Wal-Mart? Annnd, I know going to the gym would be great, but when in real life, I have kind of bad SAD(Social Anxiety Disorder), so that would be like way too many people, and social interactions for me.

I’m trying to eat healthy but since I can’t cook (actually, my mom just doesn’t let me use the oven) my food choices are very limited!
But veggies and fruits are more like snacks…right?

My mom has had Hepatitis C for 40 years or so now. It is now advanced a bit and after some research we know a "raw diet" is good for her. My book says to avoid all animal products except raw goat milk and goat cheese. She’s a 1st grade teacher and wants to have some good snacks that she could even share w/ the kids. Anyone have any good sites or recipes for snacks and meals to make raw food exciting? All I can think of is salad! Thanks guys!! (I plan on giving best answer!! 10 pts! wooo hooo!)

first off, I’m already a vegetarian. I’ve been a vegetarian for three years now, going back and forth to veganism. I’ve been studying about raw foodism for a while now, so I know about how I can get my nutrients…which doesn’t have to come from processed foods and animal products. raw foodism can be the healthiest diet if you eat the right fruits and vegetables. anyways, this is my plan:
week one: each of my meals and snack will consist of fruits and/or vegetables (cooked or raw)
week two: each of my meals and snacks will consist ONLY of fruits and vegetables (cooked or raw)
week three: at least two meals a day has to be all fresh fruits and/or vegetables (as well as snacks)
week four: at least two meals a day has to be all fresh fruits and/or vegetables (as well as snacks)
after week four everything will be raw fruits and vegetables.
