Getting an australian shepherd and going to feed it a raw diet. What must be in it? I’m feeding my dog like the wild, so don’t say any supplements please. Any percentages or things that need to be in it. Do you have any recipes that can be fed to an Aussie? Also can I have how many servings are made? Thanks so much. Where can I buy the ingredients too?

Purchase Fat Burning Diet

I know there are lots of recipes. I know that raw is considered a good diet for cats and dogs, but I am not one who wants to feed my kitties raw food. I have read up on vegetarian, vegan, and regular omnivore and carnivore recipes and am overwhelmed. My one cat might have allergies, and in the next month I will be getting her onto another type of food. I am looking into Natural Balance Duck and Pea, or Venison and Pea formula. This little girl kitty is very picky about food now. She will eat some but not much without treats on top. I did not start out that way. But now, I am trying to figure out what I should do. I am interested in making a homemade diet for both of my cats, and the other one is not having a problem with the food we have.
I am thinking about making a homemade cooked diet for them both and am considering if I could do a duck or possibly venison version on my own. I wasn’t sure what other options were out there. If not, I will just be switching her over to natural balance to see if it helps.
Thanks.
I have also considered adding a powdered supplement to whatever I may make. My father is a deer hunter.
One of the powdered supplements I think was called missing link. There was another and I cannot remember the name of it. It was one to add to dry, cooked, or raw food.

So.. I know I’ve asked similar questions like this before. Don’t go spastic on me lol(:
Anyway, something I always forgot to mention in my previous questions was that my dog refuses to eat any raw meat. If I want her to eat it, it has to be cooked. I usually have to boil it.
Although I just don’t trust raw diets, I have tried them with no success. She just WON’T eat them. I’ve had so many people tell me on here to feed raw when my dog just refuses.
Plus I’m getting fed up with commercial dog food, which I have fed for years, and almost all my dogs have had some sort of health issue.
And, if I make sure to balance it and add supplements, would it be safe to use Raw or B.A.R.F. recipes and just substitute cooked instead?
I CAN feed raw bones, but last time I did, my dog almost got internal damage because they splintered, but fortunately no damage was done because she threw them up the same night. (They were sharp too because I accidentally stepped on one and cut my foot).
Thanks in Advance(:

I’m reading up on BARF diet recipes, and i’m wondering whether these supplements are really needed. Isn’t raw meat and organs alone enough for wild cats and dogs?
I also found out about the raw meaty bones (RMB) diet, which I think makes more sense than the BARF

I am interested in making homemade dog food for my 3 year old chihuahua and my 12 week old malchi. I have found a few recipes, but I need more information on what nutritional guide to go by. Like how much meat and which vegetables and fruits to use and how much. I am not interested in the raw food diet since they include bones and being that my dogs are little and one is so young. Also with the raw diets, I hear there is risk of e. coli. I definitely want to cook mine. Also which vitamins or supplements are the best to add? Thank you!
Can i get some more info. on the raw diets such as Barf and raw meaty bones diet?

P.S. I don’t want to lose weight. I’m already slim. :)
God Bless.

This actually isn’t a question but a solution as I have had elevated levels of EBV, and Mono symptoms for 10 months.

One thing I found very helpful was vitamin B supplements. The ones I used were Super Complex by Nature Made, and my symptoms of fatigue, insomnia, anxiety have lessened significantly. Another supplement I tried was monolaurin which seemed to have good effect, although I stopped taking that but I continually take Vitamin B complex, calcium, multivitamin, vitamin E, fish oil -omega 3 and I am feeling much better w/ close to no symptoms, albeit I have a minor sore throat.

I’ve tried large doses of Vitamin C, always drink lots of fluids, honey and lemon, green tea, white tea, milk thistle

Try vitamin B if you know you have CEBV or high EBV levels, I’m thinking that the virus depleted my body of B vitamins, and now I take 3 pills a day w/ food. It seems to be helping, try it for yourself!!!!

I am getting caught up in the whole ORAC measurements and antioxidant’s anti-aging power. I am drinking more green tea and eating more cranberries and goji berries, and daily vitamin E supplements. I feel good about my better dieting but can’t help but think if antioxidants are all hype. What makes one antioxidant different from others? For instance, if vitamin C is an antioxidant, why can’t I just drink more Hi-C (ignoring the high sugar content) to get my antioxidants? Should I just ignore claims from foods that say antioxidants are super cool and just focus more on other aspects of the food???

So anyways I’m 16 and a vegan. I’m started really improving my times this year by over a minute, minute and a half for the mile and the two mile. I’m going to be running a lot this summer to get in shape for crosscountry and track and I also have to do a LOT of strength training to straighten my knees. I really need someone who has experience with this type of stuff to tell me a healthy eating plan and what supplements to take. I already eat extremely healthy like no junk food or pop or anything like that. I really need to know what to eat to up my energy levels so that I won’t get injured. Please if you know a site or any place to find a sports nutritionist or something can you tell me. I really want to go to state for track and I’m not sure if I’ll be able to if I can’t figure something out. Thanks so much for your time.

I currently feed my dogs Innova but I want to switch them to a home-made diet. Not exactly raw, but maybe cooked vegetables, chicken and some type of rice.

I just want to know if you can tell me exactly how much chicken to mix with how much rice. (eg. 2 cups rice to 1/2 cups chicken)

Also, do I have to add any supplements? I currently put a teaspoon of flaxseed and a teaspoon of sunflower oil on their food daily for their coats, but what about other stuff? If you could also tell me how much they cost that would be great. Thanks

P.S, all of my dogs range from 40lbs and up.

i have a 13 weeks old kitten who is very picky eater and very sensitive. i used to feed her locally made wet cat food but it made her poop a lot and lethargic so i switch to friskies and whiskas kitten food ( i alternate) and she is gaining weight, becoming very active and poop a lot less ( a poop a day). but i heard that both brand is a low grade food and bad for the cat in long term and frankly speaking a little too expensive. so i was thinking os switching her to raw diets, but the problem i’m having is not procuring the chicken carcass (we own a chicken farm) but the supplements needed for it (psyllium, salmon oil, glandular supplement and vitamin e and b complex). i cannot simply buy it online since all of the sites do not deliver it to my country and it is not easily available in shops. i do however have bought ‘excel kittyvite vitamin paste’ could i use that in lieu of the all the supplements listed. i’ve checked the ingredients, i contain vitamin a and b , taurine and cod liver oil. could anyone check if this is possible. and how much should i used. my kitty and i is forever grateful.

I am currently finishing up my last semester of school in my hometown and anticipate moving out as early as the beginning of summer to continue somewhere else downstate. My parents can’t afford to support me much beyond some tuition help, but, living here has allowed me the luxury of eating healthier, if more expensive, foods. I run to stay in shape, and living at home saves me some money that I spend on supplements like protein powder – which, at for a ~1-2 month supply, can become a significant cost, besides the healthy food itself.
I worry that I may start to get out of shape, which is something that right now I take a lot of pride in being able to do – what are some good ways for me to be able to stay in shape when I move…provided that I will be on a much smaller budget for food, as well as being able to set time aside to exercise?

Ok.. I’ve tried to do a little research on this, and the internet is filled with a myriad of products, plans, etc. claiming to cleanse the colon and detox your system. I am not sure what to think. Are supplements really necessary? If so, are there products out there that are safe, with no "fillers", etc.? Obviously I realize a healthy diet and exercise are a must. I am just looking for a plan to detox my system and clean out the colon… There are so many things out there.. and I’ve also heard scary stories about "natural" products…does anyone have personal experience and/or reliable advice about this? Thanks so much
btw, I already eat plenty of fiber, fresh fruit/veg, and exercise daily.
I want to thank everyone for taking the time to answer. If the general consensus is that a "program" is not necessary, then is there something I can do with diet/fasting for 1-2 days to achieve the same effect? As mentioned, my diet is healthy (includes lots of fiber) and I exercise daily- but too often I still feel "backed up" (sorry, I know it’s not a pretty topic!)

i want to start my cat on the raw food diet, but all the research i do i dont understand it all sounds like "blah blah blah" with alot of words i cant define.

so is there like a "raw food diet for dummies?"
and where can i find the supplements for thet cats at?
and what the heck is a grinder?

im dumb, i need i explained to me like you would have to explain it to a 4 year old.

and were can i find really fast recipes?
do you realize thats what they would eat in the wild?

you feed your cat crap!
it will probably end up with a liver damage

so you know how much ash and fillers are in cat food, do your research.
the cat food companys slide buy with the minimal nutrients in it.
Also please dont awsner my question if you have no idea of the benifits of the raw food diet.

this is manly for people who are feeding there cats that.

So please refrain from anwsering my question if you are not educated in this topic

Im going to start my cat on the raw food diet, but first i want to become more familiar with it (you have to start somewhere, right?) Please refrain from answering this questions if you dont know the benifit of the raw food diet, i dont care if you feed your cat that crap labeled as "cat food" i care about my cat alittle more and im willing to spend the time you would spend scooping a cup of food into a bowl plus more to make sure my cat has the proper nutrients.

anyways, does anyone know of anygood websites with recipes and stuff?
Also where can i get the proper supplements from?

10 points for best answer.
can someone post websites with really good information about the raw food diet, thanks.

i know their is going to be people saying cat food is healthy, but if its so healthy why was their a huge recall?
because they dont care what gets put in it, its all fillers and ash.
im going to try to feed my cat what he would eat in the wild, what he is ment to eat.

I would like to start my 5 month old pitt-bull mix on a raw food diet. Does anyone have a recipe or know of a web-site that they know is good? I googled and came up with tons of sites but I hate using just any recipe, I’d rather use something that others have tried! also most raw food diets are a basic recipe, is there any changes that need to be made because Max is a puppy?
I would like to do an all raw diet, I found one for my cats that I will be starting in the next few weeks: www.catinfo.org that is raw chicken legs ground up with some added supplements. would this recipe work for dogs too? thanks for your help!

Iv’e been in the process of switching my dogs to a raw diet. I still have some kibble left, so I have been slowly introducing them to some raw food to get thier stomachs used to it. It seems there are a million and one different ways to go with this raw diet! I would like to buy the foods myself and prepare them myself. I always buy 1/4 cows and have a storage freezer to fit the extra meat for dogs. I have been giving them some raw chicken thighs, some steak and hamburger. Now I know this probably is not all there is to it. Iv’e googled up raw recipies and seem to get companies selling thier products more than actual do it youself recipies. What are some good recipies I can give my dogs. I’m not really to worried about the veggies as much as I am the supplements I need to add to make the meal complete and healthy so they do not lack any vitamins or essential supplements needed. What are some of your recipies? I am looking for the complete meal with absolutely everything they need.

I need some advice on giving a liquid whole food diet to a child with cancer with a NG tube. Does anyone know anything or recommend anything about that?
What are the best ingredients to puree and give her through her tube? I am talking about making food not buying a premade supplement. Although advice on good supplements to add would be nice too.
I do not want to give her "pediasure" through the tube. I would rather real living food.
The tube is in because she won’t eat due to the altered tastebuds and sensitivity during chemo not because of digestive dificulties.
