i was looking at raw foodism on wikipedia and i came across this line "the increases in human brain-size occurred well before the advent of cooking, due to a shift away from the consumption of nuts and berries to the consumption of meat." so does this mean meat was essential to human development but not necessary now?ive met many fundamentalist vegans who say it was never "natural" to eat meat .which one is it? im a vegetarian btw.
humans cant digest meat the same way animals do. we suck at it. our teeth are made for hard plants as well. can you tear off flesh like a bear? no didnt think so

Purchase Fat Burning Diet

‘m to mind him for the next three months or so and I knew he was coming but I expected an older dog since this is way too young.
I cannot send him back to his parents, it’s not a viable option as I am his guardian for a little while now.
I’ve put him in a puppy pen with a crate inside, some food and some puppy milk (I don’t think he has been weaned) and a puppy pad.
He drank heaps, ate a bit and fell straight to sleep.
Please don’t judge me I was asked to mind this dog for a little while but this young I did not expect is there anything I can do to help him?
He has only cried a little bit before going to sleep.
Please, any advice?
(He is being fed a raw food diet I found the correct recipe and made some up today when I found out he was coming, he enjoys it. The puppy milk is lactose free)
Please any advice?
(P.S I’ve wormed him and he has been vaccinated I don’t think he’s been wormed before (BIG stomach) so I’m expecting a lot of worms soon, I’ve also brushed his teeth thoroughly since they were already major black spots on his teeth)
Also Is it too young to start house breaking him?
I’m not sure.
THANKS!
(I posted this a little while ago but I didn’t get many answers)
I’m letting my other dogs play with him (supervised) and he enjoys that, they are 4 and 5 months old, I think that’s okay do you?

before any gets too heated (at least if this is anything like the cat section!) I DON’T have a dog. I am asking this for future reference… just to store the information away for later.

I sort of recently switching my cat to an all wet food diet (not an easy feat since he loves dry food, was never fond of wet food, and I still live at home and my parents feed their cat dry food, which is left out all day…). I know closely inspect the ingredients before I buy him anything and have a few brands and flavors he likes so I can mix it up for him.

anyway, recently I’ve been wondering if we were wrong about dogs too… are they healthier on an all wet food diet? half and half? no wet food?

we ha a siberian husky who had kidney failure and cancer that went to her brain… she was put down on december 12 2005 and I just want to prevent anything like that from happening to future dogs, I’ve heard all dry food can cause kidney failure?
dry food cleans your pets teeth about as much as a potato chip cleans your teeth…
I have done EXTENSIVE research on my cat’s diet and I was not asking for advice on that, but thanks anyway.

If feel sorry for her because she is younger than me but so obese, plus she has no teeth at all and has hepatitis C. I bring her gifts like food and clothes and paid for her hotel room for he wedding when she married a man in need of a green card.

She is poor and needy, and I am somewhat well off because I worked hard when I was younger.
I find this comment about my breast which she’s repeated several times now both aggravating and derogatory. Even insulting. I never let on I was offended.
Shes about 49 and I’m 57/. Do you think she is trying to make me feel bad, self conscious and freakish or am I being too sensitive?
Would you disappear from her life if you were me or would you continue to show her kindness and help her out in spite of this rude way of referring to a part of myself I felt fine about except since her comments.
Shes on welfare and foodstamps and has a bad relationship with her only daughter who was a high school drop out while I have money I saved up from working for years so I could retire and I have a son who just graduated from college. I didn’t tell her he graduated because I didn’t want to make her feel badly.

I’m thinking of dropping her and not visiting her anymore next time goes to the hospital (paid for by the government) and not answering her calls anymore. Am I being too sensitive? I feel she is is jealous and she also maintains a friendship with a woman who broke into my house while I was with my dying father, and stole everything I owned plus my car. She calls me up to tell me how they got together. And I don’t want to hear about her because that person even killed my dogs I really loved.

If you were me would you ignore her calls and cut off this friendship inwhich I do all the giving and she does all the taking? I used to loan her money, like 20$ at a time then never asked for it back but then she mentions how she gave money to this woman who stole from me and killed my dogs when I was away. And never has offered to pay back what she ‘borrowed’ yet can afford to give money to some one who hurt me badly then brag to me about it.
Am I wrong to be thinking of cutting Rosy out of my life?
I was joking, but she really does look more pregnant than nine months, due to her hernia operation.
I’ve gotten wonderful feedback, supportive and painfully honest. Its really hard to choose a best answer as even the harshest answer was insigntful.
I thank you all and please don’t feel badly if I can’t choose your answer when it is just as good as the one I am forced to choose.

he hasnt eaten the last 2 days, but he runs around and is full of energy, but the not eating isnt normal for him. He usually he eats A LOT and even wants more when he finishes his food.. idk how old he is, but we’ve had him for a while so i know its not because he’s getting used to a new environment
we took him to the vet and found out it was something to do with his teeth, they were too long to grab food with.. so now they trimmed them down and hes fine haha.. so im gonna put this question to a vote since no one gave me that answer

He lives on his own and doesn’t like to cook. (afraid he will go into a trance and forget about the food and burn down apartment)
Has no teeth so he can’t eat anything hard or crunchy (like apples).
He isn’t ‘bad’ enough to live in group home or assissted living — Not ‘good’ enough (in my personal opinion) to live alone. That’s what the ‘experts’ say.
He has a drivers’ license so he’s not totally ‘gone’.
I guess my question is/are
is there anyone who can give me recipes for whole foods that he can make (like for dinner) without cooking?
can anyone help me figure out how to help him help himself in the food/diet department?
thank you in advance. t.

I would like some serious answers on what to feed my 13 month old. She only has two teeth so she cannot really chew well yet. She also gags on third foods with meat. I think its a texture thing.
She likes cereal, and super soft green beans, carrots, apples & pears. She likes noodles but she doesn’t swallow them she just cannot seem to gum them well enought yet, I have tried peas but she cannot chew through the skins, I have tried giving her finely cut up chicken, pork, ground beef and she just does not seem to chew them well enough, she will still have the pieces in her mouth a half an hour later and I get very concerned about her chocking because of it. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

I’m having trouble finding a raw food diet plan, so I thought I’d come here and ask you what yours was. Please don’t lecture me about any other methods of dieting, I just need an EFFECTIVE, well-balanced RAW FOOD diet plan that cuts fat fast.

Please no complicated recipes or anything, I don’t have a juicer, or anything like that. I need one that is effective, and simple.

Thank you!
I’m also interested in getting rid of my acne, and I heard the raw food diet does that. And I heard it whitens teeth, and gives you a natural "tan" or something. Don’t know if this is vital information but it couldn’t hurt to add it.

Also I’m 5’7
140 lbs

I just adopted an 8 year old Maltese and her teeth look yucky, but not horrible. A couple are missing. She has terrible breath. Really really bad.

For years my staple diet was wheat pitas, rice & very spicy veg/non-veg dishes (typical indian/pakistani foods). Over last six months, I started eating mostly raw fruits & vegetables. While overall effect on health was good, but I started having this persistent toothache. I showed many dentists but after scores of x-rays they could not find anything wrong.

Now, a few days ago, I was at a party & I had to eat traditional Indian/Pakistani food, and lo & behold toothache disappeared. Now I have added wheat Pita etc back into my diet and toothache doesnt bother me any more.

Just wanted to share my experience, & see if my mosty fruit diet was lacking in something. Should I take any supplements along with it.?
So, are u guys saying, cooked vegetables are better than raw ones for teeth? I do drink lots of milk.
To Jen:

But my digestion became super-excellent when I started raw fruits & veggies. All my body functions become much better, except this stupid toothache.
