What are some raw meats, vegies etc I could feed my dogs (see details)?
as a "treat" a few times a week to supplement their kibble?? I’ve heard alot about the "raw food dog diet" but no recipes to be found.. Also, I’ve heard raw eggs are good for dogs and then that it causes a vitamin deficiency….???

You really shouldn’t take the risk. If you want to supplement your dog’s diet with human grade food, try fully cooked ground beef or chicken. You can also add cooked carrots and cooked brown rice. Did you notice my emphasis on cooked? It will also help in your dog’s digestion. And once in a while you can add cooked egg whites or ground egg shell for extra protein and nutrients.
Dogs and cats are only vegetarians because we "domesticated" them to be that way. Carnivores get their plant nutrients secondhand, by eating herbivores, not by munching on carrots themselves.
first of all potatoes are hard to digest if raw. Also good side sidhes could be apples,carrots, and maybe a raw meaty bone from any animal. It doesn’t really matter what animal.
ive never tried totally raw meat with my dog, but i did find that when she had a "rare" bone she got the runs…. i boil them longer now.
as for veggies, broccoli stalks and carrots are my faves because its like a chew toy and food. my dog is stupid fussy, though. i have to put something on it… pnut butter, or dip works if we have a house party and someone insists on feeding the dog people food. she will eat any veggie if its boiled or steamed for a while. a lot of dogs will eat it plain raw, though. she also likes fresh peas from the garden, and apparantly lettuce too ( i left my doggy bag of ceasar salad on the table… apparantly she took "doggy bag" literally)
My dogs love cooked carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, scrambled eggs, brown & white rice. I use them as a supplement to their dry kibble. They also love raw almonds (which are great for their coats).
I am a dog trainer by profession. I recommend to my clients they NEVER feed raw meat to their dogs, as I have had clients do this and it made their dogs very sick, and in one case die. Raw eggs are bad too. I know some people who swear by the raw diets but I’ve seen more damage than I’ve seen benefit.
Ask your vet about tomato juice, sour cream, cottage cheese, plain yogurt, hard boiled or poached eggs (never fried or raw) in case of allergies.
You can give all those things to your dog ON the kibble and they love them.
Tomato juice helps reduce the ph level in urine (helps with burn spots in grass)
yogurt, sour cream, or cottage cheese helps with dry, itchy skin (if you see dandriff or dander its dry skin)

Edit: *sighs* what would I know anyway? I’m only a dog trainer right? The meat dogs historically ate in the wild is not even close to the meat we buy and would be feeding now. I provided some FACTUAL links below showing the pros and cons so you can decide for yourself which is best. Good Luck!

Anything raw is good for dogs…except hamburger meat… their acids can handle a lot more than humans. Eggs are good for their coats…gives them a nice shine.
For Veggies, most dogs like raw potatoes, carrots and apples.

I feed a raw diet to my dogs. I dont "partially" cook anything with them. They’ve been on this for 2 years and have never been healthier. I think the dogs that get violently ill from this have another underlying problem or have possibly been fed rancid meat. The raw I feed my dogs is human grade USDA inspected. I dont feed veggies…as dogs cannot process veggies like humans can. A dogs’ system is the same as a wolf…contrary to popular belief domesticating dogs has not changed their system. We’ve only been feeding kibble for the past 50 years or so…dogs did fine on "table scraps" before that…and wolves on a raw diet before that. How can a system COMPLETELY change in 50 years?? Dogs eat meat and bones…and the intestines of the prey (which contain already processed veggies and grains). I feed my dogs turkey, chicken, beef, buffalo, ostrich, llama, kangaroo, tripe, organs, etc. It doesnt necessarily have to be a "recipe". If that’s too much for you to change over for now (as it is for a lot of people) I’d supplement it with kibble if you’d like. Also, eggs are fine for the dogs…shell and all. Anyway, I’m prepared to get slammed for this…and as I always say…it’s my humble opinion, and its worth what you pay for it.
