Uncooked foods don't have the vitamins /minerals etc. destroyed by cooking process.
Some will say that by eating raw then you are creating a greener planet.
Lots of pros/cons for raw food diet.

Well a raw vegan is someone who only eats organically. They say that foods are full of antibiotics and a chemical called Msg, and therefore eat only organically grown vegetables, grains, etc. Now a raw foodist is someone who only eats just that, raw vegetables (not meats). They say that foods loose their vitamins and minerals by cooking them. They also are very similar to vegans in believing that all food is stuffed with flavoring, Msg, and By products.

No one got it quite right..... here is the whole deal about a raw foods diet:

For one thing, a raw foods diet can be either vegan or not. The philosophy is the same for both. Raw food contains enzymes. Enzymes are actually living things. The belief is that live enzymes provide additional nutrition. Cooking kills these enzymes, which die at 120 F. Also, a lot of raw foodists believe that they are ingesting the life force of living foods, which also aid in better, higher quality nutrition.

i guess the philosophy behind the raw food/vegan diet is eating living foods.
"living" as in healthy, natural and full of vitamins.

this lifestyle consists of only fruits, vegetables, nuts/seeds. no processed foods or animal products.
