My son is four months old as of today. We actually started him on Stage 1 foods last week. He is completely okay with them. He had no problem adding them to his diet. But that’s not my problem. My problem is: he does fine on the Stage 1 foods and that’s all I feel comfortable with at this point. We are living with my wife’s parents right now and my wife’s mother keeps buying and feeding him Stage 2 foods. You can tell by how it comes out the other end that he needs to stick with the Stage 1. I have repeatedly asked/told her not to feed him Stage 2 foods. So now she does it anyway and is trying to convince me that 1 and 2 are the exact same thing in different sized jars. I know this is not true. But, what I do not know is: Can this hurt him? What kind of problems, if any, can this cause? How should I deal with this situation (because I’m just gonna flip out and yell at her eventually, because that’s obviously all she can understand)?
